Title: Karaya 1/48th scale DH5 instructions needed
Post by: Dave W on August 26, 2013, 02:23:57 PM
Hello everyone

Does anyone have a copy of the instructions for the Karaya 1/48th scale DH5 kit? If so I would greatly appreciate a scanned copy of them, if possible.

Please PM me if you can help.

Kind regards

Hi Dave,
I cannot seem to find these instructions - they weren't particularly good - but I have built this kit - I may be able to help if you have any specific questions.
From memory, the tail was a bit of a problem and the instructions didn't really explain it in too much detail....

Thanks Carpo. Your offer of help is appreciated.

Any specific faults or problems with the kit I need to be aware of?

I saw an article re tail problems via a Google search.

cheers

The kit is fantastic - especially ar a resin offering.

It went together with little filler and unless you are unlucky, there was no warping of the parts.

You just need to know if you are using a closed loop cable system for the ailerons or a bungee mechanism.
I had some minor damage to the lacing so I would examine the fuselage closely to see if you need to effect any repairs.
Other than that, it was a doddle.
Enjoy and keep us posted with updates of your build!

Many thanks Carpo. Much appreciated.

From a check of the resin parts I don't see any warping of the parts.

Of course we know the moment I get into this 1/48th build, Wingnuts will surprise us with a 1/32 scale DH5!  :)

cheers
