And we are still waiting, and waiting, and waiting, three years is getting a bit long winded for the In Development sign to be displayed don't you think.

I don't know what's in development as the image shows that at least the masters are cast and painted. One would think that it would be a relatively simple matter to progress to the casting, packaging, and marketing stages. Peter Jackson must have lost interest in them along the way.
Cheers,

Hi
I got this mail from them earlier tis summer and they told that they will try to realise the figures in the end of this year, they did not say what or if they have any troubles with the figures so keep up the waiting and join me because I´ll do.
Cheers

Well others are stepping in gradually to fill the gap and if they sell I'm sure the rate and choices of subjects will escalate. So if not soon WNW may miss the boat.
-
I check the website every day!!!!
There are some great set-pieces there for vingnettes -
waiting, waiting,.....

I think I emailed them two years ago about those figures and they said something along the lines of at the end of that year...Still waiting indeed...

I have seen some of these figures used in Dioramas over the years so it is quite obvious that the figures have been ready for some time, I really don't understand what the tactics are that Wingnuts are using but it aint working, all they are doing is turning potential customers to other figure manufacturers.

Just hoping that Wingnut would read this thread and respond.
I´m still waiting to.

I am wondering if they found that mass-producing the figures in resin was not practical for some reason and they changed course to maybe do them in plastic?
No idea though - things are mighty quiet on the WNW front - I dont think their website has been updated in a long time either?
-
Yes I agree, and issues probably with the PE rigging and turnbuckles not being up to required standard

and another year more, ............. waiting................

If I recall the military laws of the era, most of them will have to reach the age of 15 and get their parents' permission before they can enter the service.

Still checking - every other day now.....

Wingnuts don't need to sell them. They are busy with all their fantastic, surprise aeroplane model kits. They are a small company, not profit driven, and may not have the resources available to push on with the figures without impacting the model kit schedule. Their mistake is to have placed them on the website.
My skills are nowhere near good enough for figure painting, so I'm quite happy for WNW to push on with a BE2, Camel, etc and get around to figures after every WWI type has been modelled!

Remain optimistic, my friends ;)

Dekenba, you are right - WNW do not need to sell them.
But i think it would be nice to have some more figures to choose from for the ones so inclined. I think it is a bit boring to see a smallish amount of the same figures accompanying models of airplanes, again and again (like Mike Grant's Werner Voss figure. it is really impressive, but is shown time and again as "someone else" with totally different aircraft, no matter that this figure really looks like Voss, if pinted properly).
WNW, please press on.

There are a number of new Mike Good figures comissioned in this series ;-)
All good things take time...

Maybe WNW will supply them pre-painted?
With the latest 3-d printing techniques it may be possible to mass produce them to a photo-realistic standard.
If they look like the figures on the website then they would be doubtless very popular.
Hand- painting the figures to look realistic is difficult and can detract from an otherwise well built model.
I guess we will just have to wait and see what they produce?
