Title: G'day all
Post by: Whiteknuckles on April 17, 2012, 09:01:56 PM
Hello one and all,

my name's Andrew and I hail from the Illawarra region of NSW, Australia. I'm actually quite enthused with Des getting this forum up and running and attracting so much expertise and enthusiasm!!

As for modelling....well I have a 1:32 Roden Fokker Dr.1 sitting on a shelf with very little work done ::)......one of these days ;)

Cheers,

Andrew

Hello Andrew and welcome to the forum. We live not far apart, you in the Illawarra and me in the Shoalhaven, hope to see you call in one day.

Des,

didn't realise you are that close! For some reason I thought you lived up north, don't know why...

Are you going to the Wings Over the Illawarra show in May? Not much WW1 aviation I know but I do love the HARS aircraft.

Cheers,

Andrew

I usually do attend the show, weather permitting.  The HARS Constellation flew over nice and low the other day and yesterday the Catalina flew over, boy, talk about slow, but the sound of those radial engines, music to my ears.

The Connie visited Merimbula the other day:http://hars.org.au/2012/04/connie-at-merimbula-centenary-celebrations/ (http://hars.org.au/2012/04/connie-at-merimbula-centenary-celebrations/)

While I've never had the joy of flying in a Catalina, they sure do make some loud music!! - as do most of the HARS fleet. Would be good to catch up with you at the show if you can make it.

Hi Andrew,

Paddy has a build log started with his Dr.I build so you may be interested in following that. You never know, it may be just the impetus to get that Dr.I off the shelf one of these days.

Cheers,

Chris

Hi Andrew. Yes come and join me with your Dr.1 or any WWI kite for that matter. I'm feeling my way but with the folks here it is fun to be at it.  :)

Not sure Sean due to a few commitments - May Day march in the Gong on the 5th and WOI airshow at Albion Park on the 6th. Might pop over after the march on saturday if I can, depends on the family....

Cheers,

Andrew
