Hi,

This is what I'm building at the moment, a nice enjoyable kit to build.
Here's what I have so far:

Next up will be the engine and a few extra details like the pipework to the fuel control panel, throttle lever etc. Progress has been and will be slow due to work.

I'll be doing the green Jasta 29 machine from the flying circus part 2 decal sheet, thanks for looking.

Nice start, Tom.  I always thought the Pfalz d.III  was one of the "prettiest"
aeroplanes of the time. Good choice!
  Question - your control wires...are they wire or other material?

Hi Tom,

nice start on the cockpit. I am especially impressed on your representation of interior green. Did you choose XF 76 as WNW suggests or another mix? By the way: I have always problems in getting this colour onto the photo in a realistic way. I think you choose the correct background to get some well corresponding contrast.

Ernie, I agree, the Pfalz was definitely one of the nicest looking aeroplanes of the time.
The control wires are monofilament, painted a steel colour.

Michael, I've no doubt you'll catch and overtake me soon. I'm going to be away from home for about 4 weeks from monday so no progress for quite a while. I'll look forward to seeing your build.

Dirk, yes the green is the XF76 that WNW recommend, over white primer. The background is just the box lid. The bright sunlight, (rare here) makes the green a tiny bit lighter than it really is but its very close and I like the way it turned out.

Very tidy cockpit assembly Tom, and a striking colour scheme you have chosen.  I have no doubt that you will be delighted with the finished job..
