Title: Generic weathering techniques

If most of you are like me, you build models of various subjects that you find interesting. Most of my builds incorporate a diorama, or at least a base of some sort. I also tend to work on at least two, sometimes three or more items at one time. Case in point; I'm currently working on 3 aircraft, 1 AFV and a 120mm Roman Legionaire. Which brings me to my point.

In the process of working on my DIII engine for my Albatros, I managed to break 5 of 12 rocker arms, so while I wait for new ones, I started on the plaster base for my Legionaire. The weathering techniques I'm using are pretty much universal for almost any material where you want to simulate stone and rubble.

Is there any interest in seeing this and if so, where should it be posted? I tend to document what I do anyhow, simply because I can never remember later what I did. My brain has an annoying tendancy to purge itself of important stuff, so years ago I started taking notes.

Just curious. :)

I tend to be quite "forum loyal", so unless directed I look to find most everything I need from where it is I'm calling home at the time.
I'm spending an awful amount of time here at the mo' simply because I'm trying to absorb as much information as I can. I'm not that fickle that I will abandon any other sites [and there are very few] that I visit it just means my familiarity with them allows me to comment on the interesting or exceptional - as I will do here when I feel I've earned the right to an informed opinion.

So, getting back to your comment - Here is great for me - and any dioramic techniques I will soak up like a sponge - I kid you not!!

I am always looking for new techniques to improve my models, so your ''tutorial'' would be very useful not just for me but many other modelers as well. Posting on this particular board would be appropriate, the Hints and Tips board is very popular.

I'll start posting my progress tomorrow, as I'm at work now and can't access my photobucket. :)
