Title: hello from the UK [midlands]
Post by: Clausewitz_ on April 27, 2012, 03:04:35 AM
Hi all,
I have returned to modelling after a long break [ around 20 years] but it was always the WWI planes that fascinated me and got me into the hobby when i was a kid. And it was WWI aviation that got me started as a military historian.
I remade a whole little fleet of WWI planes a few years ago with my kids but we never rigged them or weathered them, we enjoyed painting the german planes in bright circus colours and playing dogfights with them - it just never got old and hopefully nether will I.
I have decided to have a go at some more serious stuff and have purchased a wing-nut wings Junkers J1 - the lack of rigging was a definite selling point ;)
see you all soon - i will have loads of newb questions as modelling has really moved on in the years i have neglected it.
Love WWII aviation AFVs and resin movie models also.
stash is growing :)

Welcome aboard, Cz.  I, too, recently returned (well, 2 1/2 years ago) after a 20 year hiatus.  I'm enjoying the hobby even more now than I did back then.  This, and other forums, have a lot to do with that.
Cheers,
Bud

Thanx guys for the welcomes.... I have just hot hold of my first airbrush and a stash of different paints and a few basic revell kits to practice on - expect mucho cursing  :o
My first attempt has gone a little astray and I have produced an Eindekker that looks like my cat painted it :-)
More practice on a little monocolor Dr III today me thinks...
