Title: Hello From Indiana
Post by: ward on March 16, 2013, 12:48:31 PM
Hello All- My name is Jeff Chrystler from South Bend, Indiana. I've been modelling now for 40+ years, settling primarily into ships as an adult. However I have always had a fascination with WW1 aviation, particularly triplanes. In the last 5 years or so I've completed numerous 1/72 Eduard Dr. I kits and several Eduard 1/48th Dr. I's as well as the odd Nieuport. I finally took the plunge and recently ordered a WNW Albatros and I'll dive into that as soon as I complete Steinhauser's Dr. I that's on the bench right now. I'm stunned by the level of craftsmanship that I see on this and other sites and I hope to learn more from you fine people. My projects move in geologic time as I have 8 and 10-year-old daughters and I'm also a cyclist, so there's much to balance, but I keep plugging away. Cheers!

Hello Jeff and welcome to the forum, so good to have you here. Sounds as if you are building up quite a collection of DR.1 models, and you will find that once you start on the WnW Albatros you will be overly pleased with the kit. Having two daughters is enough to keep anyone busy and on their toes but I hope you find time to post some images of your DR.i models.

Des.

Hello and welcome Jeff!  Good to have a fellow cyclist aboard.  I agree that cycling reduces modeling time, but I get my miles in early in the morning, and can usually squeeze modeling time in for a half hour or so before heading to bed.  Enjoy your daughters now, as they'll be grown up in the blink of an eye! ;)

I'd love to see your DR.1s when you're ready to post.  As I have previously noted here, I'm a sucker for DR.1s. ;D  Enjoy the forum and hop right in!

Regards,

Bob

Hi Jeff;

Welcome to the forum, we look forward to seeing some of your DR.I's posted, let us know when you are about to start your Albie, there are one or two points to look out for, but don't worry they are not build issues just a matter of taking care.

Cheers

Pete.
