Hi everyone,
I probably don't need to say much about the Wingnut Wings kit - the quality and finish of the plastic parts, the decals, and the instructions are simply top - notch.
Basically, I built the model straight from the box, I added a few small details on my own - such as cables, wires, add-on parts, and instruments - or refined existing ones.
For the armament, I decided to use the super-detailed machine guns from Gaspatch - even though, in the end, only the forward-firing machine gun was actually used on the model.
For the colors, I mainly worked with Tamiya and Gunze/Mr. Metalcolor.
I used oil paints from Schminke, various color pigments or washes from AMMO, AK, etc., or - just like in the old days -, heavily diluted oil paint solution.
The wood-layer on the propeller was painted with simple colored pencils.
I basically did without expensive "magic potions".
I used plastic adhesives from Tamiya and Revell, white glue from AMMO, liquid superglue, and gel superglue from various manufacturers.
I also chose not to apply the large kit decals to the model, the national insignia are all painted on, and the red background of the shark's mouth is also painted on.

She's a beauty Bertl! Your attention to detail as always is outsanding but I really like the overall finish on this one - the weathering really does look like the picture of the actual plane. That's something I really admire in model making, and you have really pulled it off here. Well done!

I agree with everything Nigel has written: this is an outstandingly good model with such an attention to detail. The lightly worn finish is just right and very realistic, as is the tail trolley.

This is perfection. I cannot imagine how anyone could make this any better.
