All,
Just started this one...one of my favorites!
I'm trying to leave mods to a minimum but I know I'll want to change some things. It'll look cool next to the Gotha as well!
I've only cut some things out and started the main bathtub. Added the fuel tanks and only did the slight mod of giving it a 1/32nd balsa floor backing and the same for the rear engine mount. Less flimsy that way. Looking nice so far.

:o Wowzer Dan - That's going to be quite an impressive model when built and I'm looking forward to following your progression

It will be interesting to see how you handle the complexity of this one in paper..... You like a challenge!
-
Great! This is definitely a build log I will follow.

Thanks, Folks! It is a strangely elegant plane (in my opinion, anyway) and has lots of rigging, drag, two booms and three rudders. What's not to like!
Plus, it was usually a tail-sitter which will make my life easier...

I did some more basic cockpit with seats and instruments. I also added a thin balsa floor to the nacelles and got them almost done.
So far, so good!

You don't pick many easy subjects do you! Another one to follow.

Thanks, Guys...
A bit more. It sort of fell together and this makes it easier to handle in some ways. I put a thin piece of 1/32nd balsa (sanded a bit) in the bottom wing and the stab just for a bit of strength. I'm amazed by the alignment which seems darn good so far. The middle tub is just sitting there for show at this point. Rigging will be a blast!
More soon...Dan

That's rapid progress and she is looking mighty good. No challenges so far......

Awesome work , she is going to be a pretty big size when finished .
Have always wanted to build this type in 48 scale ....maybe one day .
