Very nicely done Alexis! The silver finish came up a real treat!
I remember building one of these many years ago and recollect it being a nice simple build. Might need to dig around and have a go at some of these Tamiya kits for my next project...!
Cheers,

Another cracker and great to see it in a more 'subdued' scheme with lots of natural metal on show (No hiding place there) ;)

Very nice indeed Alexis, great finish all round. The natural metal is really effective, you did an excellent job on that.

Hey , thanks a lot guys for checking out my Mustang :) Glad you like it .
Brad , it is a lovely kit and didn't need any putty on the seems , careful sanding is the key . Yes your memory serves well . . it's a very simple kit with no a lot of parts count to it . A very things need correcting such as the wheel well but we won't get into that .
Have built many many of the Tamiya kit as have built all the new release , Eduards , Meng and Airfix . There is the Bronco kit as well , but best to just stay away form that one . Strange though have never built Hasegawa's 48 scale kit and I do have one in the stash .
It is no my best metal finish , I messed up the first coating on this build and had to use 600 grid and wet sand it and start over . There is four shades used , Alclad polished Alum , aircraft alum , Vallejo mag form the metal coat lines and Tamiya silver form their lacquer range . Was going to mask off a few more areas for other various metal shades but this was a mini group build with a co-worker who is just starting off in the hobby so didn't want to over complicate it .

Wow - great looking P-51D. Love the metal tones. Actually working on the 1/48 Hasegawa kit myself right now...my first NMF model ever (well...since I was 12).
Cheers,
