Howdy!
So now it is finally ready. I am pretty happy with the result, just a couple of things I would do differently if I had to do it all over again, but more about that some time later. Here?s a few images for the show. It is one of those planes, which looks a bit cumbersome as a three-view drawing, but actually looks much better in 3d. The lines are pleasing and I would imagine that the original plane flew rather well. It is all scratchbuilt, apart from the propeller, which is a Roden spare, can?t remember which one. The Iron crosses are from various sources from the spare box too. Actually I couldn?t find all eight crosses that would have the right shape. I had to modify four of them by handpainting the cross a little less curved. It was probably the hardest job here, but otherwise it went together without any serious problems. As the sunlight is not available too much around here at this time of the year and the kit would probably warp in the outside temperature (18 celsius below zero as I write this), I really could not photograph the translucence of the wings properly. The underside photo gives you some idea, though.
Cheers,Skyhook

Very nice, love a good scratch! Thanks for sharing...

That's a fabulous piece of scratchbuilding of a rarely seen aircraft. I agree, the finished plane has an impressive and strangely elegant look about it. I really like the way you handled the rib show through, but this is all round a lovely model. Well done!

Howdy ;D
Sweet all round bit of work and another little seen aircraft to add to your collection.

Fabulous work on this early two seater Skyhook!

Beautifully done. The ribs on the wings are particularly effective. It does look quite graceful! Fantastic job.

Thank you, all! Your kind comments are highly appreciated. Btw, just noticed looking at these photos, that I forgot to add the aileron control wires between the ailerons and the lower wing! Well, must add those before it is back to Gothas ;)
Cheers, Skyhook

As others have written, the early B types are rarely modelled, but they make interesting subjects. Your model is top notch in every way - and IMO it looks elegant.

Much appreciated! Thanks for the very nice comments. More B-types coming sooner or later...but first there?s that Gotha G.IV 'K' still waiting for the bomb racks and armament. BTW, I did the rear fuselage markings in red instead of the traditional green shown in the profiles. Brandenburg?s swastika-plane has been described as marked with red sections in in an early source. According to the photos, it seems that the two other HQ planes - MS and K have the same shade for their markings.
