Title: Markings on experimental propellers
Post by: DaddyO on December 20, 2025, 06:07:26 PM
Still working on my 72nd Albatros D.IV scratch-build with it's three bladed prop and I seem to recall that German experimental propellers had a red and white band marking on the blades?

I thought this would be a nice detail to add, but having looked through my references I can't find the picture I remember which was on an Aviatik I think  :-\ - Is there something confirming this or is it just my imagination?

Thanks
Paul

I would hesitate long and hard before I covered up that beautiful propeller with anything. Amazing job.

Thanks Allan. I was wondering if I'd manage to post the question in some dark area of the forum that nobody visits  ;D  Came across another picture of the banding the other day ; this time on a Lhoner CII so maybe it was an Austro Hungarian thing?
