Title: Nieuport 17c Rene Dorme
Post by: Monty on September 30, 2025, 05:26:52 AM
I owe the site an apology... I have been away for a while, and well, it has been a torrid time but I should have checked in... and didn't even see anything about the Aces GB... A great idea! I was incidentally completing this old kit (and it has a thread on a previous GB) and I needed something for a show and rushed it to completion (funnily in the GB timeframe) and it's the first WW1 A/C I completed in  long time... and enjoyed it... but the skills need to return so don't be too harsh.. The Eduard kit is great actually, accurate with little to add... but I worked on the structure in the top wing clear view panel and some details on the cowling and cockpit... a satisfying build... (for me!)

Wow, Marc, I am so happy you are back. And with the completed model! 😉
Very nice all around!

PS. I presume it is 72nd scale...

Welcome back, I hope the torrid times are behind you. That's a really nice clean build, the skills still seem to be there and you can only hone them by building some more WWI aircraft..... ;) Seriously, a nice job on this one.

Thank You Przemo and Nigel for the comments! It's actually 1/48th and this one was started many years ago in a long forgotten GB on this site! I was a bit discouraged as it was pointed out the markings may not be correct, but I really don't bother about that now! I will try to resurrect a few other old builds too! Regards, Marc
