Eduard SPAD XIII flown by Jacques Raphael Roques S.1893 of SPA 48
-
Decals were from Peddinghaus and rigging was .004 steel wire
-
This was an early SPADXIII. The next SPAD XIII I build will be the later version. Overall I enjoyed this build.

Who doesn't love a SPAD? Great scheme as well 8)

Very nice job and definitely a very colourful scheme.
-
Excellent build! I have just started the same kit - any tips for the build?
I also have the Peddinghaus decals as I also like the same scheme, but the decals on the sheet I have don't look like they have good colour density. What are you thoughts on the decals?

I absolutely adore the scheme.

Brad,
The decals are printed on one continuous sheet so you must cut them as close as possible. They are thin but I have had little problems with them. I generally use them for unit or personal markings. I try to use the kit decals for crosses and roundels. On this kit I used Peddinghaus roudels and they did not cover as well as I would have liked.

That looks fantastic. I really like linen finished spads, and this scheme is one of the most colourful.
-
Excellent. Seems to be a SPAD time of year.
-
Superb work Rip. I think the Spad models are very difficult to replicate in 1/72. Yours is very well executed.
-
That?s looks great! Got mdd we thinking about rejuvenating an old rebel Spad I built years ago.
-
I'm always amazed at the work that is displayed on this site in 1/72 scale.

Thanks to all for the nice comments. I enjoyed this build and have had good luck building Eduard SPADs.

Great job! The colour scheme is great in its simplicity and the feeling of fabric covering is very well handled. I like the sharpness of the build and the rigging too... could well be a 1/48 model, when looking at the photos
