Title: 1/48 Roden RAF BE12B

Latest completed project; my take on Roden's BE12b kit.

Attempted correction of horizontal stabiliser and cockpit opening shape together with various minor detailing.   This is lovely kit but is one of Roden's more fiddly models to put together not helped by the vague instructions in terms of precise location of parts.   With patience it all comes together and looks great when built though.

Brush painted and rigged with nylon mending (smoke coloured) for all bracing wires and Oschi standard elastic thread for control wires.

Completed in the markings to represent Be12b C3152 no 141 home defence squadron, flown by Captain N H Dimmock, Biggin Hill, Kent February 1918.

I do think that the 12b is rather a handsome looking steed compared with its earlier forefathers

I usually feel sorry for BE subjects, but it's great to see a nice model of a BE with teeth!

That looks very good Dave. This is a BE type which is new to me - amazing how the Royal Aircraft Factory kept on trying to resuscitate an old model!

Looking forward to seeing this for real soon.

Great result! I?m trying to imagine how this spindly beast survived in 1918? home defence? Night fighter? Anyway, nice job.

Wonderful work on a not often seen kit. I remember converting the old BE2c many years ago by grafting an SE5a nose onto the front, not soon before Roden announced their kit... so i've always had a bit of a special spot in my heart for the BE12b. Well done, sir :)

Gosh that came out nice. I have that kit and want to do it as a Zeppelin night fighter.
