My second joystick models vacform. Highly recommended as it was really enjoyable to build. Lots of scratchbuilding needed - all struts, interior, every detail including the underwing radiators, fuel tank and the gun ring. Had to source some wheels form an old pfalz as the kit wheels were basic to say the least (and only one wheel supplied). Despite the HAlberstadt CL IV being described as the best ground attack plane of WW1 there don't appear to be any other kits! Also quite difficult to get information on the colour scheme. Eventually settled on red/brown as several sources mention it and there are photos of one coverted to civilian use in 1919 that appeared to still be in original camouflage. Will definately build nore joystick kits as they look good when they are finished.

a few more photos....

Just realised that a wire has come loose in two of the pictures! Have to fix that.

Great build Will - certainly looks the part with all that extra effort 8)
Paul
ps - Isn't it always after the pics have been posted that you spot the loose wires ::)
pps - Think Ardpol also made one of these and possibly Pegasus? Although neither are easily available

Great result from this ancient vacform!
there are several resin kits and a Merlin injection, which is no better than Joystick.
Cheers Joachim

Very nice job Will, well done on scratching all the additional parts that make this an excellent model of the Halbie.

Well done Will, it's a beautiful model.
Yes, the Joystick vac is the only kit of the CL.IV available now. There were kits by Ardpol, Luedemann and Merlin but they are all out of production.
If I remember correctly the CL.IV is on KP's future projects list, definitely something to look forward to :)

A super result from a vacuform. Such a shame that there are not more kits of this type available.

Great little model! Yes, even in 1:32 there is no kit of a Halberstadt Cl. IV which is a pity.

Great looking little Halbie Will !

Beautifully done!

Thanks for all the kind comments. I?ve fixed the broken wire! Started a Roden SE5a now which is going together much faster!

Wonderful, Will!
Great result from a basic vac form kit.
