Title: 1/32 Roden?s 1 1/2 Strutter: Wheels too small??
Post by: rhwinter on April 11, 2025, 06:15:09 AM
Hi all!
Does anybody here know, whether the wheels of Roden?s 1 1/2 Strutter (1:32) are of the right diameter? On some photo?s of built models of that kit the wheels look a bit too small - at least for my old eyes? If they were too small: Are there more realistic wheels around, aftermarket stuff, I mean?
Greetings!
Richard

Hello Richard,
I would say they are ok. Here is a picture I have borrowed from the Aviattic site, the model is build by Mark Phillips:

Hope that helps.
Best regards,
Andreas

According to aircraftinvestigation.info (https://www.aircraftinvestigation.info/airplanes/Sopwith_Type_9400_1%C2%BD-strutter.html), the strutter wheels were 750 x 94 mm.  In 1/32 scale that would be about: 23.4375 mm.
