A little bird has fledged.
I bought the kit in April 2008, started on it in March 2009, put it away and picked it up again several times over the years.
There were also many WingnutWings in between and the difference in quality between the two manufacturers was also noticeable in my building mood.
In short, I thought that I would never finish the Roden Albatros D.I again.
However, I am now happy to have decided to finish it after all.
It's by no means a perfect build, and the "red four" on the sides of the fuselage is a bit shaky historically, but I'm happy with the result.

Bertl, congratulations on this extraordinary model. Roden kits are not easy to build, you've done it brilliantly. The attention to detail is superb, as is the weathering and the colours. I also really like the woodgrain. The photos and the display are also well done. Chapeau!
Greetings

Wow, that is really well done Bertl. You say it is not a perfect build, but that is very close to it. Your small details are incredible, even the way you put small dents into the prop spinner. Fabulous paintwork, too. Your perseverance has paid off big-time.
Cheers,
Gary

Marvelous. You build has inspired me to the 1/48 Eduard D.II to a D.I.

Wow, that is fabulous. Builds like this tempt me to give a try to a Roden large scale Albatros... Maybe some day.
