Title: Rib tape application question
Post by: Big Sky Modeler on March 25, 2025, 04:28:46 AM
This question is for all of you who have applied decal rib tapes on top of lozenge decals.  Do you apply a clear gloss coat on top of the lozenge before applying rib tapes or do you apply the rib tapes directly on the lozenge decals?

Just done this on the current build.  :)
I tried adding the rib tapes without a gloss coat first (on a test wing) and had problems. Used a gloss coat and no issues at all. I also applied a coat after the rib tapes to seal them down. (Aviattic lozenge with Eduard tapes in this case)

Hope that helps
Paul

Thanks for the reply!  Just wanted to get some input before I proceed.  Didn't want to put an additional gloss coat on if it wasn't needed.
