Funny that in all these years Eduard has not seen fit to do a D.I.
I know the Gavia kit uses the Eduard kit.

Like most of us, I want to passively build the Albatros line from start to finish but of course need the D.I conversion or the Gavia kit.

The Gavia option would be best then I can build my D.II as a D.II.
Or is it better to just scratch buid these changes?

Without going into researching stuff am I right in saying the Albatros W.4 is more or less a D.1 with floats? If this is the case a W.4 kit might be worth considering.

"The Albatros W.4 seaplane was a direct descendent of the Albatros D.I fighter and was developed in the same approximate time frame. Responding to a German Admiralty specification for a seaplane based fighter aircraft to provide air defense and reconnaissance duties protecting their important naval bases along the Baltic and North Sea coasts, Albatros Flugzeugwerke GmbH built an initial prototype at its Johannistahl factory in September 1916. This aircraft was basically derived from the D.I fighter also in production at Johannistahl, but featured larger wings with increased space between the top and bottom wing, and a different tail plane configuration and of course, floats."
I'm thinking just a good plan drawing and some brass or styrene rod is the way I will have to go. Thanks for the suggestion.
