It suddenly occured to me that maybe fifteen years ago I was working on building a 1/48 Siemens Schuckert D.1 from a Testors Nieuport17. Had the fuselage put togeter, landing gear struts attached, and a cowling made from a Smer (Aurora) Fokker Dr.1 attached ss well. Now I can?t remember what box it was in or where to even start looking for it.
It was going to be a real good looking build too.
I hate being 71 sometimes.

You old guys really do seem to have some challenges..... ;) Thank god I am only 67 :D
Maybe your issue is stash size rather than memory? I have the same problem with modelling bits and bobs, I buy/accumulate so much stuff in terms of paints, modelling tools, add on bits etc that I often find I re-buy stuff I had forgotten I had.

You do not have to be 67 years old for that experience . . . :D

Looking for something and not finding it is one problem but another is buying a kit or tool and then finding out you already had two of them bought previously.

71 indeed.
A year or two ago, I finally got a little bit organized and started notebooks for any projects I am working on. I have gotten sick of wondering what color of paint I was using on a particular project, or where the parts came from, or what the reference was. Of course, this would all be moot if I finished a model in the same month I started it, but I don't think that has happened since 1965.
And as for buying duplicates, I don't mind duplicate kits, as anything for 1/72 won't hit the bank account as hard as it would for a 1/32 builder, but ohhh, those decal sheets. I have been driven to multiple decal sheets like a moth to a flame. "Do I already have that one? hmmm - not sure. Better add it to the order".

Turning 72 this summer...
EH, what did I want to say?
Oh yes, this should help with the box:
Sorry, scalemates links do not work here

Being 71 isn't too bad so far. Except that my stash will outlive me :P
