Title: 1/72 Eastern Express Sopwith 1 1/2 Strutter
Post by: MR Bentley on February 07, 2025, 12:56:15 AM
Hey all! Here are a few shots of a French-built USAS training Strutter I completed recently. The exact color scheme is an extrapolation of some images provided by Greg VanWyngarden.

The kit itself is decent, not at all bad for an almost 20 year old tooling. The only major problem were the undercarriage struts, which had incorrect dimensions. You can find more details about that on my socials.

Lovely job. Those Roden kits require some modelling skills, and you clearly have those in spades. This looks really good, nice weathering.

That's a right pretty little 'Strutter' (I might even pinch the scheme for my own build)  ;D

Hard to believe this gem is in 1/72. It would be brilliant in 1/24. Well done!

Very difficult to imagine that that is in God's Own Scale!

Superb finish and rigging.

Extremely fine result here as others have noted hard to believe this is 1/72nd scale - kudos on the exceptional build and finish!

I really enjoy seeing builds of this aircraft type, particularly when the craftsmanship means it looks a bigger kit than it is. What a gorgeous model!
