Another project just completed which was undertaken during my museum build of the Pup.
Built mostly OOB with some minor details to cockpit, undercarriage and guns. Did run into some issues (of my own making but not helped by some vague instructions) and model seemed to fight me a bit but got there in the end. Brush painted as always to represent mount of Charles Nungesser, August 1918.

Nice and colourful, thanks for sharing.

Nice one Dave :)
Spad's are just fabulous aircraft albeit a bit of a pain to build in smaller scales

Very nice SPAD. I Like your choice of the camouflage colors.

Nice one, Dave.
Great to see this one getting built, after us requesting this kit from Roden. Trouble is getting good alternative decals for it. I've just been lucky enough to get the last Frank Luke set from Aviattic (Thank you Richard) and a nice ffsmc set for de Turenne, so I'll be doing a twin build of early and late SPADs once I get the stocks cleared of current projects - but we could do with more: (hopefully Aviattic have something up their sleeves!) Maybe some of the colourful 1919 schemes?
Great wartime colours here though - standard transfers look fine too.

Thank you all kindly, chaps -
Sandy - Roden's latest decals are an improvement of what went before. They are very thin and react well with softening solutions. The downside is they are printed a bit off register, brittle so break easily if not handled carefully. Nungesser's triangular tricolour onto of fuselage was a pain to apply - it did not cope with conforming over the headrest fairing splitting and cracking - I ended up repainting over this decal to tidy up.

This a great looking model Dave, well done!

Very nicely done, the Spad can be a challenging build. You did a great job with those doubled wires that pass through the struts, not and easy thing to pull off.

Dittos to all the above !

Late to the party as ever Dave: that is another first class model from your hangar. Very colourful and I would never have notoced that you had problems with some of the transfers.
Looking forward to seeing this one for real.
Stephen.

Excellent work on what I hear is a challenging kit! I do like your choice of Nungesser's mount; truly an individual who lived a comic book life, I wonder why there hasn't been more out there in literature or popular culture describing his exploits.
In any case, well done, sir!
Cheers,
