Ltn. Max Nather's 1/72 Fokker D.VII by Eduard. I used Eduard decals and rib tapes. A very tedious job. I will use Aviattic decals next time if they fit well.
-
My only issue with this kit was the fit of the landing struts into the axle wing. They appear a bit high. Next time I will try to adjust these. Otherwise this kit is my favorite to build
-
I like the extra parts that I can use for other kits. I will be starting a Revell and MAC Fokker D.VII soon so maybe these extra parts can be of some use.
-
That turned out really well, it really is a nice kit. Those Eduard lozenge decals look a little odd in terms of colours IMO, I would definitely try the Aviattic decals on a future build. But they don't detract from a very nice build.

An excellent build Rip! Lozenge is always a bit of a chore, but it sure does look pretty :) Well done, sir!

About the Eduard lozenge decals -
I think there is some specific magic in the way of underlying color that may optimize the colors of those decals.
What color did you have under the decals?
Thanks,

I believe I used white under the lozenge but I started this kit several months ago so that may not be accurate.
-
I had been using gloss white under lozenge decals, 1) gloss to make the decals adhere better and 2) white to make the decal colors brighter.
But with some of the kit-maker's decals being colored a little differently than I expected, now I am thinking of using different colors.
And perhaps that is a partial answer to using some of my Americals sheets that are painfully out of register. Will ponder on that for a while.

I thought I would give the Eduard decals a try. Maybe I could tone them down a bit with some after shading if I don't like the result.

Looks great, RVW
Including the lozenge decal!

Fokker DVII's always look colourful. Yours is no exception. The lozenge looks fine to me.

Nice and colourful. Thanks for sharing.

Nicely Done!

Beautiful machine! Always nice to see these (and I know how tedious those rib tapes are).
I also use the Eduard lozenge. Maybe one can try to tone it down by spraying a highly diluted mix of grey over it, and before it dries completely, drag a brush quickly over it to mimic fabric texture. I wouldn’t do it there though, the nice glossy fuselage goes well with new looking lozenge.

A very good looking DVII. When it comes to spare parts the MAC kit has quite a few as well (2 spare fuselages for different types!)
-
Very nice, and what a great looking markings scheme. I've got some of these in the stash, but want to try using my Aviattic decals on them.
