Dear friends,
Just discovered ww1aircraftmodels.com and I'm enjoying the quality of the topics here, so I made the step and registered ;)
I'm a 59y old Belgian modeller (since the age of 8 ), member of several clubs and also active on other forums like Fighters (French forum), Britmodeller or iModeler. My preferred scale is 1/72 and my interests are quite eclectic, including WW2 French airplanes, RAF/ US bombers, WW1, early jets, small air forces with lesser known airplanes, a few ships and armour subjects etc... A bit of everything as long as it is prior the 70's. I'm a slow builder, paying attention to shape issues and not afraid to spend months updating vintage kits... 😆. Regarding paints, I'm also vintage and like the old enamels (although I also use some acrylics) and use both brushes (yes, still) and airbrushes.
Besides that I'm living in Genval, close to Brussels. I'm a merchant marine captain, working on a 6 weeks on/6 weeks off schedule. When at sea, I try to work further on some parts, gluing/cutting/filling/sanding are all possible. No painting as it would mean travelling with my tools and paints, too difficult (impossible actually) nowadays.
I hope these few words to introduce myself in your community will suffice for the time being 😉
Best regards,
François

Hi Dennis,
Thanks! Your wish is my command, so here you have a sample of my collection, some kits I achieved during the last last years! I like to upgrade vintage kits, addressing shape issues and detailing them from scratch. They need a lot of work to achieve something decent but it's quite enjoyable if you can't recognize the original kit when placed between modern issues of the same subject... ;-)
Cheers,
François
