I'm Richard, a complete novice to the Great War AC modelling. I put together a Revell 1/28 Dreidekker as a kid, but who hasn't?
As an adult, I assembled indiscriminately various kits, such as Tamiya T-34s and Pakistani JF-17s from Bronco and FineMolds Tie Fighter. I judged the Mosonshow competition for 10 years and won various awards in my home country and in neighbouring countries at competitions.
This year I discovered Des's website and was really taken by his canvas-wood-wire aircraft. I've been clearing out my stash and started to buy new tools, materials, books and some WW1 AC kit as well. So far I have mostly just admired your work and the techniques you use. I mainly like the K.u.K. LFT and the Italian planes, but regardless of nation, I usually find the two-seat recon planes fascinating.
I don't know any of the forum members, but I hope I can get into the life of the forum and maybe we can meet in person at a major EU event.

Hello Richard, welcome to the forum. I too made a Revell 1/28 Dr 1!

Welcome Richard
You come with an illustrious name in WWI A-H aviation circles - Josef Kiss - the only NCO in the Army Air Service to be promoted to officer status (although I think it was posthumous!). Wonder if he is any relation?
Look forward to your participation.

Welcome Richard, I too am a fan of A-H and Italian subjects. You sound like an experienced modeller, what scale will you be building in?
-
Richard,
Welcome to one the most helpful forums on the web. You will find some the nicest and helpful builders and some of the best modellers I have associated with. Some of my favorite builds are A-H due to their unusual type and colors. The scale of choice seems to be 1/32nd scale although I still build in the braille scale, 1/72nd. You will find we thrive on pictures. The more the better. Any help you may need will be fulfilled almost instantly. Good to have you with us.
