Good morning everyone.
After a series of events that kept me separated from modeling, I had decided to start again with models printed by the manufacturer.
Bristol F2b from DrafModels and Caproni Ca.3 from Answer (which will arrive in a few days).

From Bristol F2b, very detailed and complete, I was not satisfied with the printing/coloring.
I therefore decided not to use it and to design a model from scratch.

Starting from the drawings taken from the Wind-sock Datafile volumes I created my 3D model to transform it back into the drawings for the creation of the paper pattern.
In the coloring and drawing I took some "poetic licens".

The drawings are not complete and susceptible to change.

Wonderful, and what a talent! Don't forget to get your site up and running again soon, and let us have lots of fun assembling (even paid) models that you've revisited.
Realistic coloring of paper models is an extremely difficult exercise (and I know something about it). You have to juggle between screen rendering, paper type, printing mode...and of course master software like Photoshop, GIMP and others....
You need to have tried your hand at this discipline (art) to appreciate its difficulty and the results you get.
Welcome back. I think a lot of us missed you!

That's quite a project and I admire your willingness to revise the whole model!

This looks to be a stunning build, I'll be following along closely!

Good to see you back! Will you do the same with the Ca3 ?

First of all, thank you all and best wishes for a happy 2024.
Thumbs up, I'm looking forward to the Caproni Ca.3 paper pattern.
I found on an old HD my drawings for a 1/48 scale model, abandoned and never built.
They are from about fifteen years ago.
Below are some details

The 1/48 scale was definitely too small to be able to make it with all this details drawn.
But I think I could reuse some parts and enlarge them to 1/33, for example the engine:

Welcome back, and what a way to reenter! The RAF version of the Biff looks amazing!

I, for one, want that Caproni!!!!
All looks sweet.

Hello,
out of curiosity, what drawing and colouring software do you use to achieve as a such high quality results?

Hi Philippe.
I use an older version of AutoCAD to draw and an older version of Photoshop for coloring.
Regards, Marco.

Dan,
This Caproni model must be rescaled to 1/33, otherwise certain details cannot be made.
I had started to build but I stopped because I realized the difficulties related to the scale and the inaccuracies that need to be revised.
Share my impatience with the Answer model.
I will start from that base to review my model.
..And you will be the first to build it.

Thank you for showing those pics! Following your progress :)

Just unpacked.
The size is B3 for the pair of non-separated sheets and A2 for the instruction sheets.
The colors are terrible and without the slightest nuance.

I think I'll start with my prototype.
I will save the engines from this.

Hello Marco,
It's going to be very interesting to follow you. You've a very good grasp of partial or total recoloring of a paper model. I think that knowing how you proceed (even if our skills can't match yours) will certainly be of interest to many of us.
looking forward to more.
