Here’s the Lobster. I did it before and fancied another go. DB Kraplak and Rexx exhaust plus figures from various manufacturers.
Spring 1919 at RAF Catterick. The Yanks attached to 49TFS as ground crew are being demobbed and are shipping out from Liverpool in two days.
It’s been fun having them around. Lots of pranks over the past year, even repainting the COs kite as a Red Lobster as a joke on the Limeys. She’s a bit tatty now. No one cares so much since the armistice…
Tonight there’s a wizard party planned in the NCOs mess to see the boys off.
First though, the Yanks are on the square at 3PM for their final inspection.
The CO and Adj have planned a low level flypast, with a little prank of their own…. 2 sacks of flour!

Well, that's cool!

Very cool indeed. That colour scheme is so much appealing, especially when executed so well.
-
That's a great colour scheme and you did a great job on this Dave, creating the impression of a well worn aircraft. Love the setting as well. Very nice job all round.
-
Beautiful model, Dave. Attention to detail is superb and the weathering is spot-on.
Show-stopper!

Well, this one's certainly a stunner! I didn't see your Mk.I build, but I'm betting this one beats it by several orders of magnitude. I'm kinda-sorta planning a DH.9 vignette somewhere down the line, and you can bet I'll be referring back to this thread when I do. Thanks for sharing it.

Really pretty.

You don't see that color scheme everyday! Excellent work, Dave.

Totally agree with all of the bove, especially with reference to the colour scheme and the subtle weathering. The figures are first class and add greatly to the scene. Superb model.
