So this will be the ultimate location of My BoB Axis aircraft involved in the Battle of Britain. WIP: Supermodel CANT Z 1007 bis. Painted with My own mixes of Tamiya paints. Weathering next. As with the Defenders I will eventually post All of My BoB attackers here.

Bellissimo, Rick! Always loved Italian camo schemes, and you did an excellent job on this one. Typically stylish aircraft, but I'd hate to have had to face off against a Spit in one of them, though...

Wow. Very impressive cammo work on a fun build!!

Thanks To All and No Brad, My eyes are good...sort of ::)
Today I masked and painted the canopy and began applying the 40 plus year old decals!

This is a beautiful model of an extraordinary machine Rick.
The decals came on very good didn't they, even though they are decades old.
Great camo!
Cheers

Now that is a looker! Great camo work, Rick.
I wonder if any Spitfire pilot ever uttered the words - 'I see a bunch of Cants approaching'?

That is one awesome looking Cant! I've done a few Italian camo paint schemes and can say they are tedious. You've pulled this one off very nicely.
-
This one just keeps getting better and better, Rick. I have an old Fiat BR.20 that I may have to drag out one of these days just so I can try my hand at this camo scheme… assuming my airbrush skills return, that is :)
Keep ‘em coming!

You have to say the word Cant with a London accent - where 'down south' becomes 'darn sarf' 😊

My respect not only for using these old decals but also for masking this canopy in 1:72 scale!
It looks very nice!

Cants aside ;D, this thread brings to mind my favorite Derek Robinson quote:
"I mean that's your average fighter pilot's attitude, isn't it? Show him something, anything really, and deep down inside, his first reaction is: What sort of a mess could I make of that with a couple of three-second bursts? Herd of cows, doubledecker bus, garden party--makes no difference what it is, that's the thought in the back of his mind. Not surprising, really. I've often thought it's a damn good job they're in the RAF, otherwise they'd all be out there blowing up banks."

Thanks for all of the comments guys. I did a partial re-paint on the Z1007bis. Not because I wasn't satisfied but rather, I found out the base color should have been the green. I went back and added more green giving the overall impression that it is the dominant color. I am very close to finishing this one.

I also have been working on the Revell 1/72nd Ju88 A-1.

Wow, Rick, I didn't think the Cant could look any better, but it does :)
And the Junkers is gorgeous. I remember building the original 1:72 JU-88 around 1970, and have loved those airplanes ever since. I can't remember what I had for breakfast this morning, but I remember that light-gray Revell plastic as clearly as if it was yesterday...

Thanks! I think the only thing the New Mold Ju88 has in common with the Revell original is it is Grey Plastic 8) Lovely kit to build.

Very nice work! Especially the camo is great ;D

Very Nice Amigo !

That camouflage on the Cant is some of the best I have seen on a model. Such a shame that those Italian bombers are not seen more often - they were very interesting types IMO.
Stephen.

Thanks for looking in and the comments! The Ju88 A-1 is one step closer to completion:

Looks great, Rick! And I love the "defenders" thread too, brings back lots of fond memories of the early '70s when the BoB was getting a lot of press because of the 30th anniversary (!) and the release of the film.

Thanks for following along Dutch. Yesterday I added weathering using oils. The final step will be touch up and adding the final parts.

PS: Something I forgot to mention. One Prop Blade was a short shot. I cut off the offending end and spliced a blade end from an unused part from another kit.

This is stunning, Rick! What a group you're going to have when they're all gathered together...

By the way, I need to fix the canopy as it is installed incorrectly 8)

The Italian faction certainly is filling out! Great stuff!

Another winner, Rick!
I was digging around in the garage today and uncovered the old Italieri FIAT BR-20, which I picked up twenty-five years ago at a show with the idea of someday doing it in Japanese markings. But now I’m thinking it sure would look pretty in sand/rust/spinach…

Your Italians are really looking good.
I'm thoroughly enjoying your BoB tour - so much so that I have started a 1/48 BoB Me109E!
-
That is an old kit! Superb finish as on the other Italian aircraft - you have certainly nailed that mottle finish.
Stephen.

Sweet, Rick! If nothing else it'd be good practice with the airbrush :)
