This is my Taube built many years ago from styrene card and wire

Wheels are Airfix Demon, prop, steering wheel and engine (half RR) are Aeroclub, rigging 0,1 mm copper wire.
The bridge under the wings is soldered 0,5 mm piano wire.
Thank you for looking Joachim

8) Wow. Love that Joachim. The Taube is a great subject and to see this one made up in 'true' scale is a real inspiration.
May I ask how you produced the rib tapes for this?
Thanks
Paul

No, this is top secret! ;D
Very old fashioned with a ruling pen and clear acrylic lacquer just before final coat of varnish.
Learned about that in "Scale Models" magazin, it was already used in the thirties on wooden models.

;D Haha
Thanks Joachim. I'll try that out and see how it goes.
Difficult to get the right look in this scale; the last couple I've scored a double line with a scalpel which is okay, but doesn't give quite the appearance I'm after. Decal strips can be a bit vulnerable when cleaning up after rigging through the wing (as I do) and adding plastic strips is time consuming and looks a bit overscale usually IMO

That is truly outstanding - the more so as it is scratch built and in God's Own Scale. I take my hat off to you for building and rigging that. It is a mini-masterpiece.
Stephen.

Very well done Joachim, it's a lovely Taube!

awesome build,Thanks for sharing :)

This is a perfect gem of a model. I've always loved the Tauben family, and this one is particularly beautiful!
Got any more old builds like this lurking around? Let's see 'em!

Amazing scratch build Joachim! You really captured the delicate beauty of this aircraft. I have yet to build one but have two Pegasus kits to attempt. I can only hope to make something near to what you have created.
Did you print your own decals for this?
All the best,
Tim

Thank you very much for the kind comments!
A small update on the ribs: they were done with a lighter variation of the main colour on top and a slightly darker on the bottom surfaces.
After this bottom surfaces got a translucent coat of the base paint brushed on. Covering quality was reduced with clear varnish
after a test with thinner had proved to be disastrous! Clear ribs I use on surfaces with two or more colours.
Several fuselage letterings were applied with a felt tipped pen - on prepainted decal paper and the best two were cut out.
Underwing markings were traced from a scaled photograph and transfered to the model with the aid of transparent paper and hard and soft pencils.
Then the outlines were filled by brush, not too difficult because of the wavy outlines.
Printing my own decals was still unknown future!
Thank you again Joachim

Beautiful model!

Brilliant work and a beautiful model! The "crisp" detail and rigging defy the small scale, I was wondering if it was really a much larger scale subject until the photo including your hand appeared! You can be extremely proud of this beauty!
Cheers,
Lance

Joachim,
What a beautiful model. One of my favorite models and the only one I have in all three scales.
What impresses me the most is how clean the build is. Not a hint of glue or other defect. How long did it take you to build it? A kit to be very proud of.

That's a stunning little scratch build. Top marks!

Thanks a lot for your comments!
You want some glue? Here it is, the inverted V-strut was very uncooperative.
Greetings Joachim

Wow, Joachim, that is beautiful! I thought it was 1/48 at first. Beautiful work!

Wow! Just wow!

Wow impressive model! :)

Beautiful model! Very fragile but graceful looking. For sheet styrene the nose, cowl, cockpit area looks amazing! Rigging looks almost as complicated as a pusher design but so cleanly done... that's where I usually end up with some unsightly glue bloops.
Very impressive!
