Just finished this one which has been on the bench for a wee while now. (I did start the KP kit, but even after much sanding the kits wings and details were a bit 'clunky' for 1/72 especially when compared to the older Pegasus model which I picked up at a recent show)

You spotted my cunning ruse eh? ;) Once I'd decided on the scheme I fancied I found a really good picture of one in a line up of mainly Albatros' and that was it ;D

Paul, that looks excellent! I really like the cockpit coaming, you can see where it's slightly pulled tighter at fuselage mounting points. Also the hint of the tape that covers the seam where the two halves of the fuselage are joined. Did you run a thin strip of decal there before painting? Love the detail...

Fair bit of work involved with the older kit RVW, but it's mainly sanding and adding details (which I enjoy) Got a few more of the Pegasus models in the stash and will sort out another once I've finished the model I'm working on.
Here are a couple of views of it all based up and ready for the show at Bovington next weekend. :)

Cockpit combing was a sausage of Duro putty and the front of the fuselage was built up with Magic Sculpt. I'd intended to use a decal strip for the seam :-[, but completely forgot so ended up masking and adding a couple of coats of paint (probably needed a light sand down afterwards, which I'll do next time)
I noticed that the aileron push rod positions were a wee bit forward of where they are shown on the plan so the holes were filled a drilled nearer the cockpit. Some scraps of brass shim and sanded 5 thou plastic sheet produced the steps and hatches with detail being added to them using paint.
Tail skid is shaped brass strip and the fairing is built up of scrap plastic sprue and putty.
One of my favorite bits isn't easily seen (the spreader bar on the undercarriage) Made three of these before I was happy with the look and scale of it. Made from brass tube and plastic card the bungee cord is stripped electrical wire which adds a fair bit of strength to the joint area.

Bravo, another diminutive cracker. That tarp draped over the engine looks amazing. It must difficult to achieve such realism in 1/72 but you've managed it!

Don't see many about and perhaps not as glamorous as the Albatros in it's fancy plumage, but did sterling service and is an interesting shape to add to the collection (which are all in the 'correct' scale ;))
