Finally fished one on the assembly line. HR Hanriot HD1. I would suggest that one read previous online build logs as they were very helpful. The front upper fuselage decking is 1mm too long and needs to be trimmed back. I scratch built the cabane struts. My first attempt yielded the upper wing too high so I had to shorten them a bit. Set the cabanes first and use some sort of jig.

That is a lovely Hanriot and I particularly like the fuselage marking.
I converted one of these in a formermmodelling incarnation: from an Airfix Camel from an article by B Philpot in Airfix Magazine. In those days there wre very few WW1 kits to choose from.

I used Tamiya XF16 aluminum as well as Tamiya X28 green and Mister kit Jasta 11 red. Rigging was with .004 stainless steel wire.

This is the first Hanriot kit I have ever built. Lucky I didn't have to convert another kit to make this as that is a bit beyond my ability. Kit decals were used. Model depicts aircraft flown by SGT. Guido Nardini of 78 Squadriglia. Lots of interesting color schemes for this aircraft. Just wish this model was not so rare in 1/72 scale. Overall I enjoyed the build and will someday make another.

Beautiful Work! It seems we will have a couple of Hanriot options in 1/32nd scale. Your much smaller version is an excellent inspiration!

Hanriot's are soooooo pretty it's a great shame there aren't more about.
(I think I've got the HR kit in the stash somewhere so I might dig it out for another look seeing how yours has turned out) ;)

Lovely Hanriot!
Since the HR kits are out of production I think it's time the Hanriot, always a popular WWI type, would be produced again.
How about it, KP? :)

Lovely build. Looks like you got the wing spacing just right. Nice work scratching the cabane struts. Love your marking choice as well.
All the best,
Tim

Very nice!
I have this in the stash to be built as Willie Coppens' aircraft.

Very pretty job on a very pretty aeroplane, I love those Italian color schemes. I started the Eduard 1:48 kit about twenty years ago as an OOB build but never got past the interior... another project that will form part of the inheritance of Number One Son, if he ever starts building again. And Stephen, I have that issue of Airfix magazine with the Hanriot conversion article, although how it ended up on this side of the herring pond I'll never know.

The Hanriot is a gandsone machine, and so is your model!
As others have said, wish the kits were in production.

A lovely job on a lovely little machine. Well done, sir!

Nice work -it's been a while since I did a 1/72 model, though I still have a few... including an HR Phönix C.I. :)

Thanks for the nice comments. Reading previous build logs saved me a lot of grief. Hope someone releases the Hanriot again. It is a good looking aircraft

Wonderful work, I particularly admire all of you that can modify struts, etc. on these things. I hope to be able to do that when I grow up.
