Title: Wingnut Wings website finally gone? But it’s now back
Post by: gedmundson on March 25, 2023, 01:33:21 AM
I noticed this morning that access to the Wingnut Wings website was unavailable. Perhaps it’s finally gone?
Cheers,
Gary

Yes, it's gone.

The end of an era.

Most unfortunate it is.

Re the link above, it’s only really for a nostalgic trip,

Only thumbnails of images etc…

Such a shame!

Hi all,

PM me if you need any instruction manuals, photos, colour schemes etc,

Mike

Whenever I visited the site post-end-of-production I would save whatever page I was visiting to the Internet Archive, but I'm afraid I didn't go anywhere near the vast majority of them. I'm glad I was able to do my bit!

Oh bummer  :'(

It was bound to happen, being just a money sink, but still.

I and others would greatly appreciate if someone had the time and proper equipment to make a DVD copy of the entire website. I am positive that this website will not remain online forever. I would pay for a DVD.

I did download the instructions for all the kits a year ago or so, but only that.

So, no archive photos, colour photos, colour schemes, model images, hints & tips, or 360° turnarounds.

If anyone has the instructions for the Handley Page O/400 kit (32039) I would forever be grateful. I seem to remember that they were on the website only briefly. When you Google for it now you are lead here:

http://www.wingnutwings.com/ww/productdetail?productid=3196&cat=5

The info and instructions for the Handley Page O/100 are here:

http://www.wingnutwings.com/ww/product?productid=3204

Kind regards,
Willem

Apparently it’s back this morning, but for how long one may wonder.

If it was intentionally taken off-line, why reinstate later.
Maybe the site was down during routine server maintenance etc.
The site in total is around 4 GIG in size, so it wouldn't be a major hit on its host server.
Time will tell I guess,

Mike

Scrape those archive photos while it's still avail! A gold mine and it will be gone sooner or later.
