Title: Warbirds over Wanaka 2024
Post by: Brad Cancian on March 16, 2023, 05:48:54 PM
Hi folks - My wife and I are planning a trip over to New Zealand in early 2024; never having been there, from what I can see its a beautiful country with much to see and do.

Well it looks like my good lady wife has given me permission to head on over to (and drag her around) the Warbirds over Wanaka airshow during our trip - this is the largest warbirds air show in the southern hemisphere, so I am told, so it's a real bucket list item! The event runs every two years, however, the last one was run in 2018 due to cancellations of the 2020 and 2022 shows as a result of COVID. Previous events have seen a magnificent line up of aircraft, including a swag of WW1 era aeroplanes. To say I am excited is an understatement :)

The event itself is not until the end of March in 2024, and tickets don't go on sale until the end of June, but it should be a great event.

Here's the link - http://www.warbirdsoverwanaka.com/

And a link to some of the WW1 aircraft previously in attendance -

Is anyone else here on our fine forum thinking of attending the 2024 show?

Cheers!

BC

As by then I'll be in the right island - and surrounded by friends who typically fly to and at the event - there's a pretty high better chance of me being there, so hopefully we'll be able to catch up!
