This is the Classic Plane 1/72 AEG C.III kit converted to the N.1 night bomber. The wingspan was increased by another bay to provide increased lift. I scratch built the wings from RosePlane wing blanks. Overall cammo is Americal Gryphon decals. The entire front fuselage was scratch built as well.

Outstanding model!

WHOA that's a wing!!

I coveted those Roseplane wing blanks back in the day.

Great model! Not only the wingspan!
You added the stiple described for the captured bomber?!
Are you sure it was Classic Plane, I know only the Joystick kit.

Another great one Tim!
Classic plane actually have the AEG N.I (and J.I) as complete kits. I have them both, haven't realized the wingspan of the N.I is so large.

That is some awesome work there!

That is a superb conversion. Thwe wing is most impressive, but the engine is a gem too.

Wow! Truely stunning!
I think it’s the first time ever that I see this plane modelled. Have you also build a normal AEG C. Type?

Another superb model Tim.
I'm not really a 1/72 follower but I love your collection of interesting types. I remember back in the 90s the enthusiasm for vacforms, scratchbuilding, Strutz, Harry Woodman folded wings, AG decals and Aeroclub metal guns and engines in 1/72 and (for me) 1/48. Real modelling. We have been spoilt in 1/32 these days.
These are real gems.

Nice job Tim.
As I've said before, I bet a look at your collection together would look awesome.

Thanks Allan. I’m soon to build a display case in my basement. I’ll be sure to post pictures of my collection when finished.

Hi Tim,
I've got a 48th scale version of that and was tinkering with the idea of making those modified wings. I'm glad SOMEBODY did! Looks great.

More superb work Tim. A very unusual aircraft modelled with a set of good old fashioned skills and imagination.

Every time a Classic Plane kit is finished, an angel gets his wings...
