Title: Hello From France
Post by: Jijac on January 25, 2013, 05:10:52 AM
Hello From France
Please apologise for my english but I'll try to improve  ;D
Aviation addict and awful modeller but very enthusiastic modeller since '70 (old man but young spirit), formely aircraft mechanic and currently powerplant engineer.
(tubojet engines, sorry I was born too late  ;D)
Found some valuable info in the present forum and hope to be able to bring some interesting stuff whenever possible to keep this forum up.
I got some 1/48 and 1/32 WW1 kits on my shelf since quite (too) long and hope to be able to build them before plastic fall to dust  ;D
Flight level and take care of your kite! and the mechanic I am will not growl  ;D

Once nicknamed "le Baron Rouge et Jaune à petits pois" by a good friend

Welcome to the forum, Jijac.  Like Gregory said, your English is far better than my French.  Although I had 3 years of French in high school, 2 years in college and translated in the Navy, now, after all these years, I can barely order a cup of coffee or find a bathroom.  I was also an airframe and powerplant mechanic for many years.
I look forward to seeing your models posted here.
Cheers
Bud

Many thanks for your welcome!
Will work hard to show you at least one completed kit  ;D
I have got some documentation in my library too that I would like to share. French document but I'll keep on to translate as far as I can.
Again thanks for your welcome each of you.
Best Regards from France
JJ

Hello everybody!
Just a quick update to say that as my boy just born a couple of days earlier, then I should put some projects on hold on my workbench  ;)
It doesn't mean I will not get a glimpse into the forum to keep updated  ;D
Actually from what I already saw on the forum and all the stuff and tricks I found here, I plan to build an Hanriot 1910 monoplane 1/32 (to be accurate I am eager to start to build).
I think a monoplan is easy to start with when you're a beginner and the rigging scheme seems clear and neat with the subject.
Plans found on web are already printed and scaled to 1/32 (thanks help of the photocopier at the office  ;) )
Hope to be back on my workbench this summer  ::) so until then keep on flying straight and level :)
JJ

  Jijac,
Now that's an awesome scratchbuilding idea my friend. I'm very much looking forward to following your build thread on the Hanriot this summer. A heart felt congratulations to you and your wife on the birth of your Son. Hope Mom and Son are doing well.
Highest Regards,
Gregory Jouette
