I'm still doing this wrong but anyway. This is a kit I took off the shelf of doom to try and rekindle my building mojo after a couple of stalled attempts. It is finished with AK Real lacquers above and Tamiya lacquer below. The story of this a/c is pretty interesting. In 1945 the pilot, Eugene Lorcher was based on the eastern front. He knew things were going to end poorly so he rounded up his fiancé, put her in the radio compartment behind the cockpit and flew west to an air base occupied by the Americans thus gaining their freedom. Every year after the war they went back to that same base on their anniversary and drank a bottle of champagne!
