Graham here, a modeller for the last 30 years but only got into "bipes" in the last year or so. Gradually swapping my stash of modern jets for WW1 & interwar type. Got a couple of WNW kits under my belt & currenlty working on a Silver Wings Hart (OK not WW1 but you get the picture!) I'll post some pics in the appropriate section here on the forums.

This is the place to be, Graham, as you switch over to the WWI/Early days of flight eras. There is more knowlege here then I can keep up with, good luck on that and I'm looking forward to seeing some of your work. Welcome.
Cheers,
Lance

Thanks for the welcoming comments chaps. For Ian, here's a phot of the Hart so far. Still a long way to go. It's an outstanding kit in full resin with etched details but goes together better than some injection moulded offerings!

Hello Graham
I've being watching this build over on BM and its coming along very nicely.
I've been tempted to get a Silver Wings kit but I've never built resin and I've heard the instructions can be on the limited side, but I do like the shape of these Hawkers.

Hello Graham

I've been tempted to get a Silver Wings kit but I've never built resin and I've heard the instructions can be on the limited side, but I do like the shape of these Hawkers.
"Buy with confidence", yes the instructions are a little vague in some places & the host of tiny resin parts are of course not conveniently numbered as they would be on a sprue but believe me if a semi-competant modeller like me can make a fist of it I'm sure most can. There are a couple of errors in the kit that I detailed over on BM. As an aside, the ex-Montex Fury & Gamecosk are now available from Alleycats; the former includes white metal struts that are far better than the resin in the original kit, making mounting the top wing a doddle. They also include "proper" decals rather than the masks that Montex supplied. I made a real hash of them with my Montex Gamecock (also somewhere over on BM).
I've got the SW Flycatcher & Siskin in 1/32, plus their Woodcock in 1/48, all in the stash.
