It looks like the Hobbycraft kits are coming through into stock at Hannants now, they have a few SPAD's in stock.

All we need now are some of the newer tool Camel's to go with them. I have enough of the SPAD's in my stash, but still need another one of each of the Camel's.

Thanks! I will add these to the kit list. I was having problems finding the kit in the US, now I see they have two versions!

Can the revised Camels be far behind?.....

I have an International Spad and a LeRhone Camel if any one wants them. I will post on Buy,Sell,Trade.

Tim,
Many thanks my old friend. Graet news for anyone wanting a SPAD XIII in 1/32 scale. I'love to see the new tooled Camel re-released as well as it's still the best Camel in the scale and a major improvement over the original issue.

Just wonderring what the quality is on these kits, are they reasonable? A SPAD or two would look nice in amongst al the German A/C in my cabinet.

They are no longer listed must have sold out already :(

Hi Keith: It isn't a bad kit. It goes together well, the fit is pretty decent and when it is done, it looks like a SPAD XIII. There is no engine, the detail is basic so A/M bezels, decals, seat belts, etc., is a must. I have heard about some other "flaws". As I am a builder for the enjoyment of it and not into AMS or the nit picky details, so to me it is a pretty decent kit. I built one (I think from start to finish was less than two weeks) and have one other in my stash. I have also built the Academy/Hobby Craft Nie. 17 and the SPAD is way above that. If you can get one, I would recommend getting one and just enjoy the build for the build sake.

That doesn't make sense because Hannants list sold out items. They've taken them off completely, they were showing about 30 of each in stock the other day.

Can anyone confirm; are the SPADs (HC 1687 and 1688) "newer tooled" or the original releases and are they both XIII's? The improved Camels are a quantum leap over the originals however I've never seen the SPAD(s).
Cheers,

Lance,
SPAD's HC 1687 - 1688 are the only releases of the SPAD XIII. They are great kits but in no way compare to WNW. If your interested in one checkout the below.

I can confirm they are both the same plastic. I don't think Academy/HC did the revision of this kit like they did the Camel. I have never seen the revised Camel, would like to though. Here are a couple shots of my HC SPAD in Baraca's markings, albeit incorrectly marked, I still like it.

I think I did this three years ago. I will do the next one a little different, but not much. It was a fun build, went together well, and looks good on the shelf.

Greg,
Thanks for the info. I've already been in touch with Steve, in fact bought his Le Rhone Camel. I'll wait on the SPAD(s) as I have a stash now that is hard to "camoflage"!
Mark,
Thanks as well; nice looking SPAD and good to see in different markings.
Cheers,
