Pfalz D.III flown by Vfw. Joseph Lautenschlager. Straight forward build with some cockpit details added. I build. prefer the Roden kit but this is not a bad build.
-
A mixture of Tamiya XF16 and XF19 for the Silbergrau. Next time I will add a little more gray. Red was Misterkit Jasta 11 red.
-
Rigging was .005 Nitinol wire. I have a few more of these in my stash to build someday. Some Part photo inspection panels were also used.

Nice job on your Pfalz D.III 8)

This looks pretty damn good to me!
Where these the kit decals? If so, how did you find them?

The decals were from the kit and I don't recall any problems with them. I usually try to have a back up set since many of my kits are quite old.

That's simply beautiful! Excellent work RVW!
I have a Roden Pfalz sitting waiting for me to decide whether to rig it - you've just made my decision much easier. Inspirational stuff!

What a beautiful little model! It turned out very well indeed.
Cheers,

What a pfabulous Pfalz Rip! A very striking scheme too.
Out of curiosity, why do you prefer the Roden over the MAC kit? I know the MAC kits tend to have a much thicker trailing edge, was that it?

That along with the inspection panels that I had to add. The MAC model reminded me of the old Meikraft Pfalz kit a bit. Also had to add the tail control horns

Excellent little Pfalz!

Thanks! I have some of the Roden kits in the stash, and thought about getting the MAC kits. I'll just hold off on that. :)

I never liked the Pfalz D.III for some reason but your model makes me change my mind. Lovely!
