Title: The Arkhitect
Post by: Stuart Malone on May 05, 2022, 06:03:25 AM
Here's one off the bucket list.  I wanted to do a kit with LEDs but I didn't want to DIY it and I wanted the whole project to be relatively inexpensive.  This kit ticked all the boxes.  I airbrushed Molotow Chrome over Stynylrez black, then gave it a light oil wash in a very dark grey.

As a lifelong fan of a galaxy far, far away this just oozes Star Wars to me - it's magnificent! Is this a kit, scratchbuilt or - my strongest suspicion - a repurposed airbrush?

It's a full kit, with LEDs included.  It's about 14" (36cm) long, so a massively oversized airbrush.  I think it was originally sold by Iwata and now by Qi Shen.  It is quite obviously designed and molded by Bandai, or whoever contracts for Bandai.  It push-fits together beautifully.

So very interesting!  I can see why Iwata sold it as it does look like and over-grown airbrush. Is this ship entirely in the realm of someone's mind, or is it from a movie, story, etc.?
It looks great.
