As mentioned in my "Under Construction" post, I've finally completed my WingNut Wings Albatros B.II.
To summarize, I built the model using an oil painted wood grain as opposed to using the kit supplied decals, and used Aviattic CDL decals for the flying surfaces. I added Aviattic primer cups to the engine cylinders, Gaspatch 1/48 scale metal turnbuckles, and EZ-Line for the rigging. I uased Steve Robson's spoked wheels as replacements for the kit's, and the two figures used in the final picture were ones I'd painted up from Model Cellar.
Cheers,
Gary

Gary,
Wow! You certainly spared no talent on this one, truly magnificent! The shading and tones on the CDL surfaces, your woodgrain work, and the extra details on the turn buckle installations all are just superbly executed! As always your figures are absolute works of art, just exceptional work start to finish ..... well done Sir, and congratulations on a truly "top drawer" production.

Spectacular build. Particularly fond of the figures.

Superb results, Gary. It has 'the look'.

To everyone who commented on my finished model, I’d like to thank you very much.
It does make it worthwhile to put up the pictures when you know some folks may enjoy seeing them. I don’t attend model club meetings any more (mainly due to the whole Covid thing) so this gives me a chance to compare notes and learn a few things from our like-minded community here :)
Cheers,
Gary
