I know the Fokker Dr.1 was typically painted on the topsides and sides with a streaky effect using an eight inch wide brush over linseed oil in a single direction etc.

Question is, apart from MvR's all red aircraft, were there any known to not have this effect?
Just not very keen on the effect, though it is authentic. I find it somewhat distracting.
Not doing the streaking when it should be there is not an option. Also looking for a colourful livery, and of course decals to match the aircraft.

I think I found my subject.
The DR.I 581/17 of Ltn. August Raben, Jastaführer Jasta18 1918.

Eagle Cals also did a set in 1/32, but can't find any online.

If anyone has a set they don't want? Or know any others?
The only thing I have against the Baron's Dr.1 is Charles Schultz...

Now, Axial or Heine propeller on Raben's Dr.1?

I think the caption should state 581/17 not 479/17, based on information at:

and

Planning on using Proper Plane wooden prop:

The 32006 set got a good review on Britmodeller:

I've been looking at the Osprey book on JG II. Profile #17 on p55 shows a tripe belonging to Ltn Wilhelm Schwartz. The fuselage is blue, darker than the regular light blue undersides and struts, but not as dark as the usual JG II blue fuselage. No personal markings showing. Wing upper sides are regular streaky green. Cowling is green for Jasta 13.
Best of luck,
Rick

You can hardly go wrong with the prop. These were non-durable items and were changed very frequently. They used whatever they had. A plane could fly with a Garuda one day and with an axial or reschke the other, it just depended on the horsepower of the engine.
