Hi Guys can I convert the 1/32 Roden Albatros DIII into the Austrian Albatros D.III OEFFAG?
-
Main differences are that you'd need a different engine and armament - Austro-Daimler and Schwarzlose - and a slightly redesigned nose without the usual Albatros spinner.
A good reference would be Datafile 19 which is still available from Albatros Productions at 9.50GBP.
It's been touched on a few times on this forum but I don't think anybody so far has actually done it.
Good luck!

https://archive.aeroscale.net/features/3198/index.htm copper state had the A-D engine

In addition to the above, I believe the fuselage panel lines and instrument panel were a bit different. See here:

As far as redesigned nose -
My understanding was that there were three OEFFAG types
.53 was same form as Albatros D.II - square wings with two lower spars
.153 same form as Alb D.III - sesquiplane with one lower spar
.253 had the redesigned nose with no spinner, also sesquiplane
Now you have interested in looking at the plywood panel shapes.
