The first MAC kit I have ever attempted. Plane is from Flik 55J

When I build another one I would thin the cabane struts a bit. They appear too thick to me. I found that placing the cabane struts first helped with placing the top wing. Also the outer struts are all not the same length. Two of them are slightly longer than the other two. The instructions do not make this clear. The longer struts go towards the leading edge. I have read that some modelers have had difficulty with this. I measured the struts just to convince myself.

The decals were a disappointment as some of them disintegrated in water, but overall a good kit. I see a D.I in my future.

Very fine Phoenix. Nice rendition of green leaf camo.
I have built one many years ago and unfortunately I do not remember the issue with the struts...

A lovely build of a company, kit and type I wasn't really aware of. Excellent work RVW and thanks for sharing!

Great work as always, Rip -
I've built this kit and agree that fitting the cabane struts first is the way to go. However, I did not encounter any problems fitting the interplanes once I had the top wing fitted so I must have been lucky.

Camouflage is really well done. Austrian planes are always interesting.
