WW1 Aircraft Modeling => What's New => Topic started by: Dave W on November 18, 2021, 08:02:45 PM

Special Hobby does not currently have any new WW1 aircraft kits in development, but our Forum promotion currently underway is being followed by them and has shown them modellers like Special Hobby WW1 kits.
Forum members now have an opportunity to take it further with a members' poll to find the most wanted new WW1 kits you would like Special Hobby to produce, and would buy. The aim is to show Special Hobby the commercial potential for re-starting its WW1 line.
So while Special Hobby does not currently have any new WW1 aircraft kits in development, if they did re-start their WW1 line, what kit would you most want to buy, and in what scale? Your answers will be collated and sent to Special Hobby to encourage a resumption of their WW1 models.
Please indicate the aircraft and scale of your preferred choices.
And please keep the selections realistic- we're talking aircraft kits with commercial sales appeal not weird esoteric designs.
We ran a poll like this previously for Roden and it was very helpful so this time we are helping Special Hobby.
So what new WW1 kits would you like Special Hobby to produce and in what scale? This is a great opportunity for Forum members to be influential with kit manufacturers.
Please respond in this thread and we will pass the results to our friends at Special Hobby.

Great development.
It'd have to be something reasonably mainstream with good marketing appeal so, lots of colourful marking schemes available.
In 1/32 we've got a Pfalz DVIII coming from Aviattic but that will be very expensive and only a limited run resin, but maybe not a good idea to split the market.
No, in 1/32, the answer is obvious surely - a Hanriot HD-1 Scout, with options for the floatplane too - Belgian, Italian, French, US and Swiss markings.
I'd buy a few.
Sandy
(PS While we're at it, perhaps we could ask Roden for an Oeffag option for their lovely 1/32 Albatros D.III kit!)
-
Hello, Dave -
I second the idea of 32nd scale Hanriot HD1 - an airraft not that well covered (certainly not in this scale) but a reasonably well known machine that hopefully would equate to it being a commercially viable model.
Regards
Dave
-
Great initiative, Dave!
My votes would go for 1/32 kits:
Albatros D.III (Oef)
Breguet XIV
Oeffag C.II
Hanriot HD.1
Morane L
There are actually many more subjects which I would love to see kitted but seeing at least Alb-Oef would be a fulfillment of dreams!
-
I have to agree the Hanriot would be an obvious choice. I’ve got nothing against 1/48 but because I’m building in 1/32, and can’t commit to another scale at this stage and it’s not a huge plane 1/32 for this one for me.
Guess excluding all the kits coming from CSM, Aviattic, Roden and Lukhgraph etc then what’s left?
Possibly an updated SPAD VII and Albatros III ( Austrian make) would be commercially viable? Less well known? No one is doing a Sopwith Comic. Pfalz Dr1
There are Austrian fighters such as Pheonix that may sell.
I’ll put in a plug for flying boats such as Italian Macchi M5 and Hansa - Brandenburg and other Austrian types - Interesting looking
birds
For 2 seaters the German AEG CIV haven’t been done by anyone in 1/32. They saw service in the Middle East and Polish in 1919 as well as the Western Front. But with 40cm plus wingspan these are a bigger proposal
-
At the present time, I would like to see a Sopwith 1 1/2 strutter or a Breguet XIV, in 1/32 scale , of course.
-
A 1/32 Bristol Scout
-
Pretty much any Short Bros aircraft. Donnet Denhaut DD.8, any Austro Hungarian flying boat and any of the Voisins in 1/48 would be spiffing.

Dave, Thanks for giving us another opportunity to voice our "Wants" fo another Manufacturer! As a Retiree I have found that although Many Resin kits interest Me I just can't justify the cost. That being said it would be great to see Special Hobby get back in the WW1 market!!
My choices would include the following in 1/32nd scale:
Single Seaters:
1. Halberstadt DII
2. FE8
3. Hanroit HD1
4. Albatros DII ( Also OEF version)
5. Roland DII
6. Morane AI
Most of these saw significant service so not too obscure 8)
Two Seaters:
1. BE12/ BE2c
2. Bregeut XIV
3. Vickers FB5 Gunbus
4. SPAD XI/XVI
5. Morane P
Again thanks and I do Hope Special Hobby takes a a serious Look at the Poll!!
RAGIII
PS: I have left out the Sopwith 1 1/2 Strutter, Avro 504, and Bristol Scout as hopefully these are in the design process by Roden and CSM. If this doesn't prove to be true the Strutter would be MY #1 two seater ;D
-
Dave,
For me, the Hanroit HD1 in 1/32nd scale would top my list.
In 1/48th scale, the Sopwith Pup and Junkers J.1 are my recommendations.
Kevin
-
For me it would be all 1/48 scale, and to be honest I do not really care what it would be, any new release and attention would be welcome.
But if I had to make a choice, Hanriot would great as would be a all new tool Pfalz D.III, beautifull lines and many color choices
-
Everybody's building large-scale kits, so those of us in the proper scale (1/72) don't stand a chance. Ah well. ;D 8)
-
Speaking of 1/32nd scale, I strongly agree with Hanriot HD1, or an Aviatik Berg D.I or, looking larger a RAF Be.2c
In 1/48 there were many kits now oop that could be welcome again on the market: H.B W29, Sopwith Pup and Triplane, Avro 504K.
Ciao
Giuseppe
P.S. on the hesoteric side, why not a Zeppelin airship nacelle? :)
-
I'll buy anything they produce!!! Having said that, I do think a Hanriot in 1/32 would be a great idea. Any Austro-Hungarian aircraft would be my next choice(Lohner flying boat!). The Breguet 14 is also appealing.
-
A 1/32 Bristol Scout
When I am not entirely wrong, CSM have one in the pipeline!
I would be a happy man with a 1:32 scale Halberstadt D. fighter and/or a Morane BB or P.
Andreas
-
Speaking for 1/72 scale, there is only the Lloyd C.V. Would like to see:
Albatros C.VII,C.X C.XII
Aviatik C.I (Berg)
DFW C.V
Halberstadt CL.IV
Hansa-Brandenburg C.I
Morane Saulnier P
FE2b/d
Lloyd C.II/III
Rumpler C.IV
SAML 1/2
SIA 7b/9b
AEG C.IV
Some of the kits were made in resin but are out of production. Wishful thinking I suppose.
-
Well, the following kits are those that I miss most desperately:
- Halberstadt D.II in 1/32, such an important plane with no kit on the market
- Pfalz A.I (or A.II) in 1/32, a very important plane of the early mountain-aviation in WWI
If anyone produces one of those kits they will see me eternally thankful :)
-
Everybody's building large-scale kits, so those of us in the proper scale (1/72) don't stand a chance. Ah well. ;D 8)
Hey Matt, Give your wants, Special Hobby isn't necessarily committed to any scale although traditionally they did 1/48th and 1/32nd in the past! I wouldn't mind seeing the un-kitted two seaters I mentioned in 1/72nd .
RAGIII
-
In order of most wanted, all 1/32:
Hanriot HD.1
Pfalz Cl.IV
Albatros D.III (Oef)
Breguet XIV
-
It would be great to see more German two seaters in 1/32:
e.g.
AEG C.IV
Albatros C.VII and C.X
LVG C.V
AEG J.I
Albatros J.I
Friedrichshafen FF.33H
the following fighters would also be great:
Pfalz E.IV
Halberstadt D.II
Albatros W.4
and some big ones:
Friedrichshafen G.III
AEG G.V
Thanks,
Jason
-
In 1/48th scale any German or Austrian seaplane. Also in 1/48th scale some pushers would be welcome such as the Fe.2b (early and late) and Voisins or Farmans.
-
A Pfalz D.VIII in 1/48 would be really nice!
Cheers,
Frank
-
Easy one, this! All of the above - in all scales! Some great suggestions and inspiration by the folk on the site, and Special Hobby can deliver! But just a thought: if other companies are rumored to be working on a subject, especially a less than mainstream project, it's better that they wait a while. Also if the subject is really esoteric, the market is really small and they need to take this into account... I have all of their 1/32 WW1 productions, so forgive me if I I add a plea for a Halberstadt DII.... Maybe that Hanriot too.... And Thank You SH for all the great modelling inspiration... Regards, Marc.

My wish list in 32nd scale:
Be-2c/e
Vickers GunBus FB-5
Breguet 14

1/72
In no particular order,
SPAD VII
DFW C.V
Halberstadt CL.II
Friedrichshafen FF33
Roland C.II
Salmson II
Airco DH.4
-
Thanks for the responses folks! There are some great suggestions there and to date the Hanriot HD.1 is the clear leader.
But please note this poll covers all scales and the 1/48 and 1/72 builders have just as important a say as the large scale crowd.
To those who think 1/72 is ignored, you have the chance to change that by your input. Don't complain- tell us what new kits you want! I am recording all subjects and will be sending the list to Special Hobby.
My personal new kit wants cover 1/48 and 1/32 scale.
1/48 scale - Airco DH.5, Vickers FB 19 Bullet; Fe8
1/32 scale - Airco DH.5

Hi
In 1/32
CSM have said they are bringing out a Sopwith Scout, Baby and HansaB
So you could strike them off because I’m sure CSM will a great job and I hope they keep going strong with WW1
Roden have announced a possible Sopwith 1 1/2 Strutter an Avro 504 so likewise
I wanted to say I’d like to see injection moulding for all of the 2 seater kits Likgraph has coming. But only if they are limited release and not available one day and it doesn’t cut into Lukgraph sales because that wouldn’t be fair. I know it’s business but hats off to them for bringing these out.
1/48 and 1/72 people go for it. If it wasn’t for WNW we might not be lovin 1/32 as much ( although it’s the best scale for fighters IMO.
I’d love to see a huge Friedenchafen bomber or even a ‘giant’ bomber (the one with a propeller on the nose) But the only person mad enough to do that in 1/32 has dipped out of the industry
-
Most wished for Hanriot HD1
-
Second Most wished for Albatros D III (Oeffag) Austro Hungarian versions
-
Very interesting, I have the SH Nieuport 16, which is very nice, but SH really keeps improving their quality as evidenced by their latest kits. One of several I have is an off-topic model (1/72 the McDonnell FH-1 Phantom), but it is a superb little package!
As for 'wishes', there have been some very nice suggestions already, to which I'll support or add some...
1/32
I'd support, in order of my like factor:
-Breguet XIV (as much as I like that one, I'm not sure how commercially viable it would be, and it's a big one, too)
-Albatros C.X / C.XII (they shared many parts)
-Phonix D.I/II/III (pretty!)
-Albatros D.III (Oef) (perhaps more up Roden's alley?)
my own suggestions:
-Phonix C.I (wild array of in- and postwar markings for multiple nations (Czech, Hungary, Yugoslavia, Sweden, to name some) and a pretty machine to look at imho, decent references available as well)
-will never happen but I like it, unlike the crews apparently: SPAD XI / XVI (would look fantastic next to a Roden S.VII and S.XIII)
Out of the box thinking like a Dutchman :D
-Fokker C.I (hey, they did a Fokker D.II and Bristol M.1c, too!)
-Rumpler C.I (several were interned)
In 1/72:
Sopwith Pup
SPAD VII
Large single or multiple engine aircraft (Friedrichshafen G.III, AEG G.IV, HP O/100 O/400 anyone?)
As much as the Hanriot was important and is wished for, it somehow does not do much for me :( (sorry!)
-
With no surprise I'm voting for an Albatros Cx10/ CX11 in 1/72 or 1/32.
-
Well okay, then. All 1/72 (other scales exist? Really? :D)
SPAD VII
SPAD XI/XIX
Salmson 2A2
Accurate Sopwith 1.B1 (and please someone find a photo of the underside of this plane)
Dorand AR1
Morane Saulnier Type P
Morane Saulnier Type L/LA
Morane Saulnier Type AC
Morane Saulnier Type N (Revell is not accurate, plus it's been OOP for quite a long time)
Nieuport 28
Fokker D.I/II/III
Pfalz D.VIII
There are definitely more, but that's all I can think of this morning.
-
My wish list, avoiding the ones that are very unlikely.
In 1/72, of course:
Airco D.H.2
Fokker D.II
Fokker D.V
Hansa Brandenburg C.I
Hannover CL.III
Morane Saulnier N
Nieuport 28
RAF F.E.2b
Roland C.II
-
Definitively there is a market gap for French, Italian, and Austro Hungarian fighters, that no other WW1 airplane manufacturer has yet plunged into production. Anything that fills in those missing must-have kits, will dominate the market
-
I'd love to see a Short 184, BE.2 and a DH.4 in 1/32
I'd also love to see a DH.10 in 1/32 but I would eat my hat if that ever happens (but I'd be very pleased if it did!)
-
My wish would also be a Hanriot HD-1. Here's hoping!
Cheers,
Ernie :)
-
My gut desire is a 1/32 Avro 504k but as mentioned that's in the pipeline. I personally find 1/32 ideal for WW1 kits although I still get the odd 1/48 and 1/72 desire...
1/32:
BE.2f (really any BE.2)
American-built DH4
Hanriot HD.1
Curtiss Jenny
Standard J.1
Siemens-Shuckert D.IV
Airco DH.6
Vickers FB.5 Gunbus
Vickers Vimy
Thomas Morse S.4
1/48:
Vickers Vimy
1/72:
Vickers Vimy

If I was the directing mind of Special Hobby I wouldn't know where to start after reading the posts.
-
Hanriot HD.1 in 1/32 scale is the clear leader at the moment but it's early days in the poll so the more responses the clearer the picture for Special Hobby.
Incidentally in our Roden wanted kits poll the Spad XIII was the number one want with the Hanriot in second place. As Roden acted on our poll to produce a Spad XIII it makes sense that the Hanriot has jumped to number one wanted place.
But let's see more requests and for all the scales, this is not a single scale poll folks. Every scale is equal.
cheers

I'm afraid I can only add to the 1:32 Scale suggestions here; the Hanriot in that scale, an Oef Albatros D.III, and a Sopwith 1 1/2 "Strutter" being my three most wanted choices.
Cheers,

Some great suggestions here…….personally I would love to see:

1/48 scale Sablatnig SF2
1/32 scale Halberstadt D.II

Hi all - great poll, let's keep the responses coming :)
Whatever a manufacturer decides to make, it has to be a good seller for the kit to be viable. Obscure types will only appeal to a limited group, so Special Hobby would need to produce something that's going to sell more broadly. Given the market, a relatively popular subject that hasn't been kitted before, or kitted long, long ago and is need of a contemporary replacement, is the best option.
As someone who doesn't build 1/32 scale, I can definitely still see the appeal for a model company to release something in this scale, given the more widespread interest. Accordingly, I think a 1/32 Hanriot would indeed fit the bill; it is relatively simple, with plenty of interesting colour schemes. My next vote in this scale would be for an Avro 504; a bit more of a challenging build, but lots of interesting colour schemes available.
For my most loved scale, 1/48, there are a couple of gaps that i'd love to have up to date kits for, but i'll stick with three:
- Sopwith Pup - we're in dire need of a newer release here. The Eduard kit first came out in 1995 (that's 26 years ago, folks!), is limited run in its moulding technology, and is long OOP. The most recent Aeroclub kit (2011) is still very limited run and is also now OOP. Plenty of interesting colour choices, when we consider front line squadrons, naval squadrons, and training squadrons.
- RE8 - again, a workhorse that has only really seen one kit; the old aeroclub kit from the early 90s that is very limited run in nature, and is now only really a collectors item.
- Avro 504 - again, lots of interesting schemes available. The Blue Max kit is the only game in town so far, and it's OOP and limited run.
For 1/72, my next most loved scale, even more options for contemporary kits exist.
- An updated Pfalz D.III (lots of colour options. Roden kit here is good but is over 20 years old and isn't up to their current moulding standards)
- An updated Albatros D.III (as above)
- Sopwith Pup (The HR models kit is nice but limited run, Airfix kit is aincient)
- Morane Bullet (Revell kit is old and inaccurate. This would also appeal to new starters due to its simplicity).
All that being said, like most folks, i'd welcome any new release and buy it regardless :)
Cheers,
BC
-
Dave, thanks for the sanctioned wishing well...I've missed this... I join you in requesting a DH5...would love one in 1/32 from Special Hobby...and/or the Halberstadt DII...both overlooked machines...[Something that might spur interest in a Halb DII, Richtofen scored 12 victories in one in early '17...even painted it red...]
-
Rather than amend my prior post I'd like to say a 1/32 Halberstadt D.II is on my list also.
-
My preferences go to 1/48 kits:
- Caproni Ca 3 (Huge!) in italian service
- Voisin III in italian service and with the bomber version
- Maurice Farman Long/Short horn in italian service
- Savoia Pomilio SP2 / SP3 in italian service
- RAF RE8
- Sopwith Salamander
- Savoia S.65 schneider trophy racer
(and any other schneider trophy racer)
-
1:48
Sopwith Pup
RE 8
Hannover CL III
1:72
Halberstadt CL II
Hannover CL III
Roland CLII
Albatros DIII, up to date, well buildable and hence lots of possible sales
Sopwith Pup
Their latest releases like the Do27 and BF109E are lovely. So I hope for the same quality for WW1 kits. Thank you :)
-
Hi All,
Likely to be an impossibility but could someone come up with any 1/32 BE2?
cheers
Daryl
-
For me, al 1/48.
AGO C.II, looks like a P-38 Lightning with 2 wings! Coolest looking ww1 aircraft that has never been kitted in 11/48 scale.
Caudron R.11. another cool twin engine attack aircraft, used by French and US squadrons
SSW D.I, this would be a simple one to do and would look nice next to a Nieuport 11.
Curtiss Jenny, tons were used as trainers. Would love to see an early JN-3 as used by USA in the 1916 Mexican incursion, as well as the more common JN-4 trainers. Only the old Lindberg kit exists in 1/48 scale.
Dave C
-
I'd be happy to see any of the large multi engine bombers and seaplanes from all nations involved in 1/48 but also happy to have these in 1/72 to make them more commercially viable.
Mark
-
Hi All,
My votes prefer 1/48 (big enough for me to work on, just small enough to fit home space) but also happy for new kits in 1/72:
Sopwith Pup
RE8
Hannover CLII/III
Albatros CVII/CX
Halberstadt DII
-
Good morning chaps
I would like 1/48 (I've got a stash of wingnuts and can't where I can keep them once finished and now that i'm retired and have time LOL :o to actually make them!!)
So 1/48
RE8
Hannover CLII/III
a Gotha of some variety
1/32
Albatros D.III (Oef) a Polish one with the swirly wing covering would be brilliant
Cheers
Andrew

Yes, an Oef D.III would be wonderful; that furniture cover camouflage has always been intriguing... Roden, could do that from their D.III kit with an additional sprue...
Jamie
-
Just want mainly to bump up the numbers for some already mentioned, in case it makes a difference:
1:32
Hanriot HD1
Halberstadt D type
Oeffag DIII 153
BE2c/d/e
DH4
The above have been the most glaring omissions to me ever since I concocted my first imaginary wish list ages ago. The first three, the single seaters, would surely sell relatively well. I mean, the rich variety of schemes available for the Austrian Albatrosses... Etc.
Otherwise, one or two personal wants in this scale (the Pfalz DVIII would have featured here, but Aviattic have recently greatly cheered me up!):
Morane L (superficially simple, but I can understand the constructional challenge) - one of the historically important types of WWI
a Lohner boat (any of them, really, but Type L preferred)
Avro 504 - especially the ones which bombed the Zeppelin sheds in 1914 - fingers crossed Roden will come good on this one
Breguet 14 - another really important one historically
Curtiss JN-4 - ditto
SSW DIV (oh please...)
Vickers FB5
1:48 (or more likely 1:72)
Several interesting/important, some amazing large types which are never now going to make it into 1:32
Caproni Ca 3
Ilya Mourometz
Short 184
Siemens Schuckert RVI or even, what the hell, go for it, the RVIII
Porte Baby (the one sporting a Bristol Scout parasite plane)
Zeppelin (Dornier) RsIII
Linke Hoffmann RII
Yes, I'm drifting off into utter fantasy land now, though I note that last one has already been mentioned above :D
Finally I want to offer tribute and thanks to Special Hobby, Copper State, Roden, Aviattic, Lukgraph, Eduard and more for continuing to support this little branch of the hobby.
Cheers
Mark
PS I hoped I'd acknowledged that kits of large aircraft are unrealistic fantasies nowadays, but in the light of remarks below, apologies to those who might have thought I was seriously suggesting such kits. I don't think they'll happen, even in 1/72 scale. However, my fingers remain crossed for certain notable two seaters, at least in 1/48 scale.
-
I am finding the responses interesting as always! I am sure Dave will give a full account when the survey ends but I have done a Very quick count for the 1/32nd choices. So far as Dave stated earlier the Hanriot is in first place. It is a close race from there between OEF Albatros DIII, Halberstadt DII, Be2, and the Breguet 14. After that several have 3 or 4 votes like the DH4, FB5 and a couple of others. One note is that I didn't count things like "Any AH Aircraft" or "Any Float Planes" as it is difficult to attach them to a "Specific" airframe. I am really looking forward to more responses!
RAGIII
PS: I did 1/32nd because it is My preferred scale 8)
-
My suggestion is:
1/48 Curtiss Jenny (Curtiss Canuck)
A large number of RFC/RAF and American pilots learned to fly on this wonderful trainer.
There is very old 1/48 kit but it first came out when the dinosaurs were abundant.

Some fascinating responses to the poll folks and I can assure you the folk at Special Hobby are closely following this thread.
As RAG III correctly says the Hanriot HD.1 in 1/32 scale is the clear front runner at the moment.
I am compiling a list of every suggestion which will be sent to Special Hobby however I simply do not have the time to prepare Top 10 or 20 most wanted lists. If any members would like to volunteer to sort the suggestions into final results times three scales, please let me know. Sorry folks but there's only so many hours in a day but all the requests are there in the thread for those who want to check them.

I've seen (and used) that on other modelling forums and on Facebook. If the software allows it (Dave W?) once RAGIII and I have tabulated the results we'd be able to offer a list. The only thing is we would need three separate polls for the three key scales - and effectively retread ground we're covering here. I like that idea though.

When you go to the parent board (such as the What's new? board) there is an option to create a NEW POLL to the right of NEW TOPIC.

I have to say that at this point it doesn't make much sense to add a "Poll" using the tool. It will take a bit of counting but on the other hand No One is overly influenced by what choiices are posted and especially those that are "Showing" high numbers. JMHO

I now have an up to date tally in all 3 scales. Later I will get with Zac to compare. I will re emphasize that I didn't count posts that were too generic to tally ::)
RAGIII
PS: Without giving My numbers here are the top choices to date in all 3 scales: Many others are close to the ones posted so continue to post your favorites, even if not on My List of Leaders!!
1/32nd:
Hanriot HD1
Breguet 14 and Halberstadt DII tied
Alb. DIII OEF
Be 2 series
1/48th:
RE8
Sopwith Pup
Hannover CL IV
1/72nd:
SPAD VII
Morane N, Roland CII, Spwith Pup, tied
Albatros CXII, DH4, Morane P, Salmson 2, Nieuport 28, Fokker DII, Halberstadt CLII, Albatros DIII, Hannover CLII tied
I have done My best to be accurate so I will appreciate comparing to the list that Zac comes up with 8)

Rick and Zac
Many thanks for taking on the poll tallying task. Much appreciated!!
Rick- your tally results conform to what I thought was the trend in the poll.
I am in regular contact with Special Hobby who are regarding the poll very seriously as a market indicator of what modellers want.
Incidentally the same results can be seen by other manufacturers should they wish- Roden and Copper State etc. So regard our poll as valuable market research for all the WW1 model manufacturers.
However a plea to members to 'keep it real' with the new kit wants. The driving factor here is commercially viable subjects. If you ask for 1/32 scale huge multi engine obscure bombers the manufacturers will just shrug and ignore us. A Hanriot is a very viable subject, a weird one-off obscure bomber thing of which only one was ever made is the sort of kit Peter Jackson released toward the end of Wingnuts and we all know how that went.

I can only agree about those Large Obscure aircraft Dave. That being said I have recorded them ::) In 1/72nd some may even be feasible if not practical ::)
I would ask anyone that posted the Generic "Anything" type posts to try to narrow down to real choices that can be easily tallied ;D
RAGIII
PS: I also combined a couple of the choices like BE types, OEF Albatri and so forth.
-
Like Rick I didn't count generics, only specific types. So my count is as follows (numbers added 27/11/21):
1/32
1st - Hanriot HD-1 (17)
2nd - Albatros/Oef D.III, Breguet XIV and Halberstadt D.II tied (10)
3rd - Royal Aircraft Factory BE.2 family (8 )
1/48
1st - Sopwith Pup (5)
2nd - Royal Aircraft Factory RE.8 (4)
3rd - Avro 504k, Caproni Ca3, Curtiss JN-4 Jenny, Hannover CL.III, Hannover CL.II/III and Royal Aircraft Factory FE.8 tied (2)
1/72
1st - Spad VII (4)
2nd - Sopwith Pup and Albatros C.X tied (3)
3rd - AEG C.IV, Albatros C.XII, Albatros D.III, DFW C.V, Fokker D.I/II/III, Hannover CL.II, Morane N, Morane P, Royal Aircraft Factory FE.2 and Salmson 2A2 tied (2)

I counted these figures:
1/32
H.D.I 18
Alb.DII OEF. 9
R.A.F. BE2 9
Halberstadt D.II 9
1/48
Sopwith PUP 5
R.A.F. Re8 5
Voisin 3
Halberstadt D.II 3
Hannover CL.II 3
1/72
SPAD VII 4
Roland C.II 3
Sopwith PUP 3
M.S. N 3
May be I missed some when quoted, also have to add the Caproni Ca3 in 1/48 to my wishes so evens second place at 3 within this scale. If I remember well, Italeri promised the italian bomber in this scale long time ago as a future release.
Anyway, the 1/32 H.D.1 should be the best bet to produce...

I'm looking for some seaplanes (surprise!)
Short Admiralty Type 184 Seaplane
Hansa-Brandenburg KDW - Seaplane fighter
Albatros W.4
Friedrichshafen FF.49
Friedrichshafen FF.33E (A different plane altogether from the Friedrichshafen FF.33L)
Important as these types were, I'm not betting on either of them to get released 1/32
Cheers: Kent

Kent, I've added your votes but I'm afraid they've not changed my count enough. Sorry!

I also added Kents wish list to the count. That being said it doesn't really matter if it changes things. All replies are being sent to Special Hobby as Dave Stated. It is More for our benefit to identify the top 10 or 20 choices I think 8) Personally I hope Many More of our 3000 plus Members voice their wants here!

Pfalz D.III

I happily second that and an Italian Macchi M5. Anyone else like to third or fourth it into the list? I think one other member mentioned something similar ;D

I had two prior votes for the 1/32 M.5 counted ;)
Now that votes have been tallied, perhaps DaveW can let us know when he's sent the results and we can close the thread? I'd hate for someone to rediscover it a couple of years down the line and try to pitch in!

Thanks for all the suggestions folks.
I'm going to give this poll a couple more days then close it off as we have a fairly clear indicator of most wanted subjects now.
cheers

Phonix DI (II)? Sure, why not...I've wished for one in the past...I shall do so now.
