Dear Ladies and Gents,
Of course I'm not the first one to have this idea:
Paper models also can be used as blueprints if one intends to built something with Evergreen or Plastruct.
One even might use parts of a paper model ( for ex: interior ) within a plastic kit (& vice versa ).

This is something I've contemplated myself. I see no reason why it shouldn't work other than having to allow for the different thickness of paper/card compared with the plastic equivalent.
