The Special Hobby Grand Giveaway
Following our recent popular new kit promotion for Roden, the Forum is preparing a new giveaway promotion, thanks to our friends at Special Hobby.
The Special Hobby Grand Giveaway will offer registered members the opportunity to receive a free Special Hobby kit from a selection of 1/32 and 1/48 scale WW1 models provided to us by Special Hobby.
The only condition will be winners commit to building their prize kits and posting a build log of their project on the Forum.
As a build incentive, Special Hobby have also provided us with some of their amazing CMK razor saws and multi-surface sanding sticks as modelling aids.
Stay tuned for the formal launch of this giveaway – soon on your Forum!

This sounds very interesting! As I build some of the Special Hobby kits (of course with build logs!) I must say I like them - good base and enough room for my scratched improvements ;)
Thank you Special Hobby and Dave!
Looking forward to this event,
Frank

You should get to build one Rich. I think they are very nice kits and have quite a few in the stash. A good solid base to build a really nice model from. Regards, Pete in RI

In 1/32 WWI, they only currently seem to do the Morane Bullet, Bristol Monoplane and Fokker D.II - which are great - but it would be nice if they found some of their OOP Nieuport 11/16 kits - they would grab priority on my bench.

The Special Hobby kits I built (I remember my Fokker D. II and my Nieuport 11 in 1:32 scale and my Albatros C. III in 1:48) we’re all a pleasure to build and I enjoyed them very much. So this Initiative is Great News!

Dave,
This is wonderful news.
I have built a couple of non WW1 type Special Hobby kits and quite like them. Trouble is that the local Hobby Store usually doesn't much of their offerings and none of the WW1 types that I have seen. That leaves buying online and if I can find a source in Canada the cost of postage can still be significant so I have to be careful in order to keep the costs down; buying from the US or Europe has become even more prohibitive where the cost of shipping can often times be considerable.
I envy those in Europe having much better selection and availability being much closer to the sources, and shipping of course would be more reasonable.
cheers, Graham
