Title: WNW Fokker EIII (duelist kit)

Hi Guys,

Couldn't resist... although still working on the Pup, I couldn't stay away from the Fokker either.
here's what I did so far:

I've rebuilt the engine controls panel since the details on the kit part were too soft I thought.

Cockpit floor woodwork nearly done. (still have to paint the floor panel hinges and add some more weathering.)

As you can see, I've removed the pedestal for the rudder pedals. I want to build a more realistic one that is held in between cables, just like the real thing.

Really exceptionally nice. I love the way you define the components with your painting. Some inspiration for me as I tackle the ammo boxes on my Alby.

Looks great Flip!  Very realistic.  It looks like you use a black wash to define details.  What do you use for that, and how do you do it?  Thanks!  I'm really looking forward to learning from your build log. :D  Your skills and talent are top shelf!

@Bob: to define the details, I use very thin washes of oil paint. I never use black, but usually stick to dark brown or grey.
In this case, I've used Van Dyck Brown.
I apply the washes with a very fine brush. Then I let it dry for about 30 minutes. The paint will feather out and the lines will look a bit messy. To clean the lines up, I use, again, a fine and clean brush and dip it in clean white spirit. The tip of the brush needs to be damp, not wet! Gradually, I then start to clean up the lines until I achieve the desired effect.
I also use very translucent filters of oils and enamels to create slight color differences. Very easy to do and with great effect.

Hi Guys,

Have not been posting any updates for a while. Quite busy with work and family and in between I'm trying to get 3 models off my desk...
Here's a small update on the Fokker. Cockpit not finished yet. still have to add the brass plumbing along the side wall. I removed the plastic one because I didn't like it and I've made up a new one. (will post some pictures later on)
Working on the seat now. I'll use the HGW seatbelts on this one.
Also, I'll be using the Taurus Oberursel engine. Some pictures of that one soon as well.
