Title: WTB 1/72 Roden Staaken decals
Post by: Mudslinger on May 23, 2021, 01:26:25 AM
Hi fellow WW1 modelers.

I recently purchased a 1/72 Roden Staaken model. The decals had been slightly damaged but unusable. I have had little luck locating the proper irregular 5 color night time lozenge decals. Is there a link or source for them? Thank you in advance for any help you may provide!

Mudslinger,
I'm not sure what you mean by "irregular" however here's the most used Aviattic 5 color Night Lozenge product, four different layouts and rib tape stock to choose from.

https://www.aviattic.co.uk/172-lozenge-decals.html

Scroll down to 72013 and from there for your choices.

Cheers,
Lance

Hi Lance,
Thanks for the response. This is what I'm looking for.
This is an oop Orion Miniatures set. American/Gryphon made a similar set.

It's a great shame the Orion set is no longer available. I have it and it is absolutely top quality. It should be, as it cost around $60 direct from Orion!

Thanks Rob. I had seen this listing earlier, but there were only 2 sheets, and I believe the Staaken requires 3. Age and price of the decals were also a negating factor. Thanks so much for the info!

Thanks Ian! Shame these companies no longer produce the decals. My other thought is to try and rescue one of the Roden sheets by hand coloring the mottled damage on the sheet, and then laser print new ones. Ahhh, the tedium of modeling WW1 subjects! :o
